Did Mike McCarthy fool the Cowboys front office?

I wouldn't say as I'm encouraged by what I've seen of McCarthy so far. Regardless, it's sure that he'll get another shot at proving himself. Let's wait and see what the coming year does to reveal what's in store for MM and the Cowboys.

If he falls flat on his face by years end, here's hoping Jerry won't keep him around for a decade, like he did with Garrett. Obviously, Jerry has hired enough flops as HCs to put his judgment of them into serious question. It remains to be seen if MM is one of them.

Yes he did.

But even with McCarthy, get healthy, fix this defense (go back to 4-3), change out a few players, and your right back in the hunt next year.

I don't know. In his last 27 games as HC at his last job he went 11-16-1 before being fired.
So I guess if that's not to be considered, then yeah.

If you want to ignore the rest of his entire body of work. Then yeah. Andy Reid sucked his last couple seasons with the eagles too.

Cool, so if we're drawing that comparison that makes Dak McCarthy's Alex Smith but then who would be his Mahommes or is that yet to be drafted?

Or from another perspective will it be that Dak will be McCarthy's Rodgers and McCarthy will ride any and all coaching success off Daks performance?

All the while never addressing the defense as is his history.

Sign me up for sure

Calling this fraud Big Mac is really starting to get on my last nerve....who wants to be kicked in the ballz first? Cutesy nicknames are for the endeared, and this fraud hasn't done a lick of anything yet.

LOL Thank you sir, can I get another? I'm with you though.

-“Magic” Mike McCarthy & staff will probably have a whole offseason to implement those advanced analytics he worked on in 2019 and ‘sold’ to Jerry.

I don't think it's a matter of fooling anyone.

McCarthy sold himself based on his historical record and his offline analysis work. He likely believes his own sales pitch. Why wouldn't he?

He could be wrong about his own quality. He'd hardly be the first guy in the NFL who overestimated his contributions to past team success, and likelihood he can bring that success elsewhere.

There's no reason to think McCarthy is a con man, and every reason not to.

His management and decision making has been clown like and we are far from the only team dealing with injuries
record number of injuries' with new staff is #1

when you mange clowns you might look like a clown..they didn't have team we had a 3rd string team all year and its Fact ..get over it..decsions made under fire short staffed and out of desperation look far different then going to war with your front line elite squad..

its like having your elite seals team, rangers, and prime weapons all get sunk in the middle of the ocean and have to go to boot camp and use 100% raw recruits to fight war against the best the opposition has to offer..

if you dont understand that, you will always be blinded within your own narratives..

Even Shanahan mentioned just this week how injuries have hit us hard, just like his team. I know it's easy to hide behind but damn, NO team losing it's starting QB AND OL for the season is going to do much. Where you think KC would be w/o Mahomes and 2-3 starters from OL, what about Greenbay and Rogers, notice the Saints are suddenly struggling w/o Brees. Bottom line, MM gets a freebie this year, and rightfully so but all bets are off after the 2021 season. He needs to produce, no excuses and I think he will.
It isnt about the losing lol, it is how he has managed games and in game decisions that were borderline insane.
Also him letting nolan change the defense with this season as it was , was wrong, and then he didnt adjust or demote nolan when the defense
was obviously way too bad.
Even without the injuries dallas would have had a bad season, just not as bad.
he has not shown anything this season that I can say is positive going forward.

Nah, they were football fools before Big Mike showed up. I mean c'mon they pay a kicker more than any safety they have.

To allow a coach a paltry one or two years to overcome the multiple problems that this one has incurred, it would not be fair to the coach, nor his team.

While it's true that McCarthy offered a poor response to these problems, common sense should prevail, in due consideration of the hardships involved.

I’m trying to be neutral on mcCarthey at the moment. I need to see some big changes on the defensive side of the ball at coaching next year.
