If alex starts the WFT should win it. Otherwise it's probably the eagles.

If Washington does lose, that could make 3 teams still alive for the division and they still all play against one another. Both Washington/Giants would still be alive with the winner of the Cowboy/Eagle game as well. Washington better hope Alex Smith is playing this week!

It's so close. If we beat philly we probably win the east. Esp if Daniel is done with the giants. It may come down to dalton vs hurts and who has the healthiest squad.

PHI beats DAL and it comes down to PHI vs WAS for all the glory of being the NFC East chumps. WAS wins to keep the streak going of rotating winners of the division every year.

Commanders should win it. Had we split with Washington it would have been more interesting.
I just watched the gb carolina game, and carolina moved the ball on gb, and their defense stymied gb , but they just screwed up each time in the redzone.
The fumble by qb at the one was probably the biggest play, they had a first and goal at the one and he tried to jump over and stick the ball out
and they knocked the ball out of his hands lol. If they score there like they should, it is a different game.

So it is not a gimme for wash, they will have to earn it.

Here's the problem. If the Cowboys beat the Eagles and Commanders lose to Carolina. Which has to happen in order for the Cowboys to still be in it. What are the chances, now that the Eagles are eliminated, that they'll beat the former Commanders? None. Absolutely no chance of it happening. Washington needs that game to win the division and the Eagles will be a broken team going into that game. So the Cowboys have no shot.
I brought this up few days ago, and this is where a good HC would tell his dallas players to be nice and no gloating or celebrating over the eagles,
because they need them to beat wash the next week.
So lets see what cowboy players do during the game lol. I figure MM is too dumb to tell them no gloating etc.

Good point. This is besides what I said. The one glimmer of hope i have is that the new eagles QB had energized that team. They might play Washington tough. As long as what you said doesn't happen.

It doesn't matter which NFC East team reaches the playoffs.

Not one team in that division is truly deserving of that honor.

A game of draw straws...

Dalton, McCoy, Hurts or Haskins
Giants feel that Jones has a good chance of returning this week, and agree it will be interesting to see what happens in Washington with a gimped up Smith trying to get the start vs Haskins and his tribulations.

Seen massive mudslides that I never saw coming, so nothing totally shocks me anymore.

Any of the four Eastern Division teams would only end up embarrassing themselves in this postseason competition. The fact is, I didn't really pick this year to make such a statement. It just happened as a dirty trick of fate. Yet, it plays well in tune with the curse of being a prisoner in one's own home. I'm still thankful for pro football being available for this year's entertainment, though. Things could be far worse, in the grand scheme of things. ;)

I agree. I'm one of the ignorant fools that believes playoffs should be a tournament among the best teams. But anyway, there are two ways to help yourself adjust to this atrocity. The first, think of the NBA or NHL playoffs. The NFL isn't quite that bad. The second is, the NFL only requires you to be better than the other 3 teams in your division to make the playoffs. Nothing else really matters.

It blows my mind that we're even in the running after such a bad season thus far. I wonder which NFC E team is going to the playoffs to get blown out 54 to 0.

while i am on record saying that dallas winning the nfce was be ludicrous, i will conede that if by some miracle they win on sunday, ny loses and WFT lose, that i will have to attest that there is a realistic chance....but until those 3 things happen....ludicrous speed go!
A like for spaceballs quote.
