Lamb is a good one. A really good one, and I'm glad he's a Cowboy.

That said, I'm slightly underwhelmed with his body of work. I expected a DeAndre Hopkins level WR out of the gate.

Here's why I'm hesitant to anoint him as a future HOF player:

Disappears a lot after fast starts

Drops way too many balls for a player of his caliber so far, especially given his scouting report and hands grade.

Doesn't high point especially well for someone extremely athletic. Not a physically dominant player. Not as aerial as I prefer WR1's to be.

But he's silky smooth and starting to shake all NFL "nerves".
You really expected D Hopkins type production from a rookie? wow

Not that production but closer in skillset. Hopkins gets up and after it with effort and intent. Lamb's a bit easier to manipulate both off the ball and in contested catch scenarios.

The Dallas Cowboys were fortunate that 16 NFL teams decided to go another direction, allowing CeeDee Lamb to fall to number 17. The Cowboys were more than happy to make him their selection. In a season that’s been up and down for the Cowboys, to say the least, they’ve been rewarded with stellar play from their rookie wide receiver.

CeeDee Lamb is just 177 receiving yards shy of Bullett Bob Hayes’ Cowboys rookie receiving record of 1,003 yards to put his season into context. Hayes put up that number back in 1965, and it has stood now 55 seasons.

Bob did it in 14 games in a era that was a running league, so not so impressive.

Just imagine what he would’ve done with Dak as the QB.

I think the point is less about comparing to Bob, and more about everyone since.

You expected DeAndre Hopkins out of the gate as a rookie?

The same DeAndre Hopkins who went for 52-802-2 in his rookie year?

I'd say the problem is you.

Once again more pretending that Lamb was on some historic pace with Prescott and has really suffered ever since.

Not true at all. Check the numbers. The drop off is exaggerated.

With Dak: avg 6 catches 87 yards per week

On pace for: 96 catches 1392 yards

Post Dak: avg 4 catches 44 yards per week

On pace for: 64 catches 704 yards

Not a math guy I take it..

Outside of few plays i wish he had made like the hail mary, a dropped TD, and that one that he caught that immediately fumbled into the arms of an opponent ..hes been great..hes good but he reminds me of Dhop but has ways to go to get to that level but he has the tools..

Lamb is a good candidate to make the NFL All-Rookie Team

I think Lamb would have similar numbers to Jefferson if Dak stayed healthy.

To think Cee Dee has better numbers than D-Hop as a rookie.

Just imagine if Wentz was Lamb's QB. Whoa.

There you go again with those pesky facts.
Imagine Lamb with a starting quarterback, the number one option and no zone defense. Yeah, don't let facts get in the way. Yikes, the fake no-it-alls.
