I enjoy the bad seasons as much as the great ones. I don't like mediocre seasons!

Let's suppose that Jerry kicks the bucket someday, Stephen becomes the next owner - and runs the Cowboys just like Jerry.

No improvement - mediocrity - the Cowboys are forever a Garrett team. They make the playoffs every now and then, win a playoff game every now and then - maybe even reach the NFC title game once(!) - but never win another Super Bowl, in fact perhaps never even appear in a Super Bowl again. For decade after decade.

What are you going to do in that situation? Are you going to still be a fan, or call it quits?
For me it’s about the star and what it represents. That’s how come I became a cowboy fan and will stay of thin. Loyal all the way. Teams change constantly I’m not leaving just because

I don’t change teams....thats not fandom to me. To me a die hard fan, you take all the good and all the bad. The cowboys last 25 years have been terrible but even with that the franchise has seen success other teams dream about. How long did the Cubs go? The Red Sox? Browns, lions.

it would suck but I’m a cowboys fan, win or lose and everything in between

My fandom will be the same it always has been: something to do that i can't shake.

If my loyalty were dependent upon trophies then I'd have left long ago. But I ended up a Dallas fan and I love football so here I am and here I'll be.

My self worth isn't tied to the Cowboys. If I watch them lose forever then that doesn't make me a loser. I'm not on the team. It makes me a fan of a bad team, that's all.

Over time, the fandom will die off. Current fans will still be fans. Few new fans will be created. There will always be Lions fans, or Jets fans, or Cowboys fans. But not many.

Buccaneers just clinched a playoff berth, first since 2007. I had season tickets in 1986, and thought Virnny Testaverde was going to take the Bucs to the promised land.

It's been 25 years since we won anything of significant. We communicate in a fan forum. That gives you your answer. Suckers for life!

I'm am very close right now to calling it quits....I don't even look at the schedule when it comes out anymore, much less try and memorize it. Do not listen to pre-games on TV or radio....simply turn it on 5 minutes before kickoff, and watch without hope. When they lose, I now lose ZERO sleep over it....I've grown numb.

First of all in case you haven't noticed Stephen is nothing like Jerry.. Stephen is cheap and disloyal to the players.. Jerry is generous and loyal to a fault. The best solution is obviously somewhere in the middle. As for the team not improving? If you don't see that they have already improved over the course of THIS season then you're not paying attention. When the varsity guys are back healthy next year this team will win 12 games.. and since Dak is NOT one who plays down in the playoffs I think they go far. But that's just me.. I have been a fan since '65. Don't see much point in changing now.

I’m a Cowboys fan because that’s what my father and grandfather were, so I was indoctrinated. I’m not from Dallas. I’m not that zealous about regional affiliation (lots of great areas in the US). I love this team, but in the end this is just entertainment and a way to have fun. If I had to endure decade after decade of incompetence from the ownership down to the team I’d probably just watch more games based on good matchups and not plan my Sundays around a Cowboys game, but I’d still root more for them more than any other team.

Won't change. Will always be a fan. Never will change my fandom. Love the Cowboys (even with the reality show garbage), 76ers (decent team), Reds (terrible for years now), Flyers (decent) and USC (decent). None of that will change.
