While Dakota was putting up garbage time numbers, but not reeling in the team to get victories.

It seems the Red Riffle has put this team on his back, fired them up, and has been carrying us to victory.

I say we pay Dalton, and build more defense through the draft. Since we can't draft a good QB anymore with our plummet in the draft.

Feels good to finally have a great QB

#DontpayDak
#PayAndyDalton

I'm not sure Dalton is better, but he may well be the starting QB next year if Dak and Jerry cannot agree to terms.

I think we can all agree that when the defense plays well, it makes it much easier on the offense.

I think we can all agree the defense is not good.

How are we going to significant improve the defense with a reduced cap and giving Dak a truck load of money? I'm not suggesting Dalton is a long term option at QB but he can definitely help us win games and doesn't want $40m/yr.

no. dak is better. though this does not diminish andy's accomplishments in any way.

Dalton is a bum, I thought that for years now once it became obvious he is not a franchise quarterback.

AC, someone simply suggest you ask the players and you get all emotional. You really need to try & relax. Detach from Dak just a little bit. Might want to brush up on your math skills too. "At least double" ain't reality. Do those things & you might not show how ignorant & biased you truly are. Make a resolution & Happy New Year.
Yes, I exaggerated just a bit on the receiving numbers, but the truth is the receivers were putting up way better numbers under Dak as QB, compared to Andy. That's a fact. I'm not being ignorant or biased for stating facts. This troll of an OP does this crap all the time just to start trouble. Thanks and Happy New Year to you too.

This is all I'll say to contribute to this thread. In no world is Dak Prescott worth 35 million dollars A YEAR more then Andy Dalton.

Andy Dalton will never win the Super Bowl. I believe Prescott could do it with the right team under the right circumstances.

Since Aikman. Dalton can win without an offensive line, defense, and running game. Those were excuses for Romo.

Maybe so, but If I'm paying someone more money then anyone else in the league I don't want him to HAVE to be in a "right team under the right circumstance" to win. Andy Dalton could win with the right team under the right circumstance. Look at Nick Foles for example.

Nick Foles is a good play-off QB who had an amazing defense. See Eli Manning in 2007 and 2011. Dalton is just a journeyman past his prime who will crumble against good defenses.

Dalton has better accuracy and that's about it. Dak is this teams future. Dalton will have to win the superbowl this year to be given a contract over Dak.

You do realize that accuracy is paramount in the NFL and the highest rated trait any NFL FO is looking for in their QB, right?
You can have all the athletic traits in the world but if you can’t hit the broad side of a barn your not playing.

I should say he puts the ball in a better place for the WR's. 2020 stats say Dak had a 68% completion percentage to Daltons 65%.

Dak has not asked for more money than anyone else in the league, first of all. And MOST teams win with less than elite quarterbacks. Eagles won with Foles, but is Foles "elite"?
Hardly. Was Flacco? He "won" a Super Bowl. But no he's not elite. Rodgers and Brees are widely considered elite, but each, despite many great individual seasons, have only won 1. Either could get another one this year, but Brees is very likely to be in his last year, so he can win at most 2. Aikman won 3, but there are some who say he doesn't even belong in the HOF, was he really elite? Wilson has won a SB and should have won another one, but both of those years he had the number one defense in the league.

Of course Brady has 6 rings, no doubt he's elite, that isn't debatable to any great degree. So having the elite quarterback is helpful.

It comes down do you want to get someone other than Dak to be the quarterback, taking the risk whoever you get turns out to be Brady or Wilson or Rodgers, and not Young, Leaf. Lineart or Quinn, or do you try to build a complete team around Dak and win a SB with the "bus driver" quarterback like Johnson or Dilfer?

Both approaches have worked.

You pays your money and makes your choice, and hopes like heck it works out....

Andy is in transition. He wanted to stay home because of Covid-19. He is worth more than he is getting payed this year and Dak, well, the market sets that number. Its really that simple.
