That’s actually a really good point.
What are Daks stats vs teams with winning records and teams with losing records?
that's already been posted. multiple times.... Dallas got blown away by average teams like WFT and Ravens and AZ when Dalton started mustering 17,3,10,16 points....Dallas lost to 4 playoff teams when Dak started his last 6 games..losing by one score...the offense did its job

Again, multiple teams inquired into Dalton, including Patriots, Jets, Bears and Jacksonville. If he was released before free agency, he would be somewhere else, most likely starting.

Dak is obviously the better quarterback however Dalton has played better than most would have expected.

Took him awhile to get accustomed to the team, new playbook, and get in sync with his recievers but has looked great the last couple of games. Granted we have played horrible teams and continues to be a statue in the pocket but what do you expect from a backup quarterback with no OL. I think he adjusted just fine.

As long as he doesn't turn the ball over its a positive lol
I don't think Dalton has played better than expected. in Fact I expected more and got a lot less. the team was no where close to being competitive when we played average teams. he has needed a lot of help from defense to make the team compeitive against bottom feeder competition with their back up QBs...in fact we can only say he has won the battle of back up QBs since he never beat a starter.

Don’t forget got to the play-offs all four times in a much more difficult division, when the rules were not as lax as they are now for passing.
don't forget 0-4 in those playoff games.....with some of the all time worst QB performances in the playoffs.....

Dak can keep piloting the offense to 35 ppg it will.

This is a dumb statement made under the assumption that a defense plays the same regardless of the situation. We are to believe that a defense plays the same when the game is 0-0, 10-7, 7-10 and 30-7? This just doesn't happen. There is a reason why Dak was able to wrack up those stats in the 5 games he started and that was largely due to the opponents getting a massive lead and then their defenses going into prevent mode to preserve leads. Barring the Rams and the Giants game the entire reason Dak was throwing more was due to those teams building massive leads in the first half of games. They got very lucky against Atlanta since their special teams apparently was coached by someone dumber than Jason "freeze my kicker" Garrett. The Rams game Dak "pilot the offense to 35 ppg" Prescott got us a total of 17 points. The truth is that facing good defenses Dak proves to be a liability since those defenses know they can stack the box and dare Dak to beat them with his arm. Neuter Elliot and Dak isn't going to beat a team just throwing the ball - not against a decent enough secondary.

I did.. here goes..

2016 wins against winning teams - Packers, Eagles, Vikings, Ravens, Steelers, Lions, Bucs
losses - Giants twice, Philly (game he only played one series)
7-3

2017 wins - Eagles, Chiefs,
losses - Chargers, Eagles, Rams, Seahawks, Falcons
2-5 ouch (Also beat the Cardinals who were 8-8 and WOULD have had a winning season if not for the Cowboys. )

2018 wins Saints, Eagles(2),
losses Seattle, Houston, Titans, Colts
3-4

2019 wins - Eagles, Rams,
losses - Saints, Bears, Eagles, Bills, Vikings, Packers, Patriots
2-7 - Offense scored at least 24 points in 4 of the losses.

2020 no wins
losses - Rams, Seahawks, Browns
0-3 - Offense put up over 30 points in two of the losses.

That leaves Dak 14-22 for his career against teams that finished with winning records. That has to change.. The good news for us is that if the defense stops being a sieve and Dak can keep piloting the offense to 35 ppg it will. What this tells me is that we've been a middle of the pack team the last three years.. as evidenced by our record. We are better than bad teams but not as good as the best teams. Given that the defense has given up at least 28 points in 6 of the last 9 losses over they last two seasons my take would be that improving the offense isn't what needs to happen for us to join the NFL elite. We need the defense to show up more consistently. Yes Dak and the offense can play better.. but the offense has been good to great with greater frequency than the defense has. The defense has been downright putrid far too many times.. even in the wins this year they have gotten worked for the most part. Focusing on Dak's shortcomings real or imagined while that's going is a fool's errand IMHO. Unless we can bulk him up and put him at linebacker, Dak can't do anything to make the defense any better. And if Moore continues to think passing 70% of the time is the winning formula, our offense will not control the clock to protect our horrible defense..
btw, outside of Brady, almost all other QBs have a similar losing record against winning teams...including Rodgers who as of last year was 32-39-1.

I am not sure if you have reading comprehension issues. you are trying sooooo hhaaarrrdddd to spin...but you are failing really bad at it...

as said before, in the message, if you read instead of jumping to just trying to spin things.........2021 plans...if we can't resign Dak and then go with Dalton then the plan is to tank, no way in hell we win anything in the future with Dalton...

as you are so vehemently trying to spin things....and make it my 2020 plan (you failed)....We actually did resign Dak....on a franchise Tag....and Dalton was the back up....strengthen a position of weakness in back up QB...no one PLANNED for Dak to get season ending injury......as a result we are 6-9.....we suck obviously...because the vet is playing....

Im not spinning anything. I’ve given you cold, hands facts from history about what happens to QBs who are tagged. It’s the same situation, same actions taken by each FO and the same results every single time.
Your inferiority complex is gettin you all flummoxed today.
Maybe a New Years resolution for you?

Interesting.
Jake Plummer had a 40-15 record with over a 70% winning % in DEN. Even took them to a AFCCG. I think they beat the almighty Patriots.
The following year he was jettisoned out of town for a rookie.

that's the job of a back up QB....come in and pick up pieces.....he did lose the 8 point lead he was gifted and if not for Gallups heroic catch, it would have been an utter disaster.....
I'm very excited about Gallup and Cooper and Lamb. It sure would be nice if they could keep all three of them. I've re-watched the fumble and still believe the ball was snapped early.

We will have to agree to disagree. Learning a new playbook, getting in rhythm with new recievers while playing behind a decimated OL, and lack of running game takes time. He settled in just nice after a rocky start imo. Cant ask much more for a backup

Dak along with most quarterbacks needs help from their defenses so its a mute point.

Boy. Cowturd is doubling down on the Dak debate today. I will say he is making the point that we neutral Dak fans have thought about. Do the Lions, 49ers, Falcons, Rams and Eagles regret paying their quarterbacks. Hopefully during the offseason we can have a peaceful honest debate about this question because those quarterbacks have a different color then Dak.

you again, so desparateley trying to spin into a different argument. once again (and not suprisingly you failed again)...

I had said, the primary plan is to sign Dak (2021). secondary plan is to go with Dalton, in which case its tanking...

you are trying to spin and come to conclusion on irrelevant matter...what happened to brees has nothing to do with Dak.....Brees started as an under performer in SD, got injured and the team moved on...he subsequently failed a physical in Miami and NO took a chance...the rest is history....Brees won a superbowl

if there is any FO worse than cowboys its the WFT....with the owner being sued to organization being in the news for the wrong reasons, in fighting, etc.....and they let Cousins go, because the owner, GM and Coaches couldn't get on the same page. they are a mess. total mess.

history of franchised players are not related to each other...its not math, you can't draw conclusive conclusions through irrelevant unrelated meaningless deductions. you are so desparate for this to be your reality, that you have latched on, holding tight to Dalton as your hope and saviour...In fact I feel very sorry for you

and I am not feeling inferior in the least. in fact I am giddy knowing how right I have been on everything, backed up by nothing but facts, disspelling bullshiet opinions with spins and lies....rather enjoyable toying with you Dak haters....you are like a little cat chasing a string, I can lead you anywhere, any time and you have been chasing oh so gleefully....I love it....

perhaps we are giddy because we beat 3 hapless teams....and needed a lot from other phases of the game than offense to succeed at that. those wins, are attributed to the defense and special teams play....offense struggled. against eagles, we found a rhythm by attacking their weakest point in the secondary and only found success after their best defensive player got injured.

this cowboys team is bad. I am a realist. I love the cowboys, and refuse to paint them into what they are not....

context.....the defense plays the same depending on what point of the game they are in, subsequently when the score changes, the defense doesn't stay in the same alignment and adjusts back...so if your assertion is that the defenses played prevent against Dak, the entire time, then that's absolutely the incorrect assumption. perhaps they may have, but when the team scores and there is a quarter and half of play left you have to be utterly stupid to play the same alignment. you go back to what worked earlier...when the team scores against you again, and they are within a score or 10 points with a quarter left, they are not playing prevent defense any more.....

its quite simplistic and lazy thought process to think that way....

you are completely wrong to think the Browns and Atlanta played the entire second half in prevent defense...do your home work.

like I said, the vet is playing, because of injury to starter, not because he earned it....... team is barely getting by with this vet. no way in hell he is the future.....

and again, if we can't sign Dak in 2021 (perhaps that's the part you misunderstood), and rolling the dice with Dalton, then I guess the plan for next year is to start tanking.....

and I am hoping Dak gets resigned next year.....

I am hoping that Dak resigns next year.

I want to compete in and Win Championships!!!
