Yes, all this makes sense. But given that a deal didn’t get done, what gets one done now? Based on your analysis, which I agree with, Dak still isn’t going to get what he wants unless he wants to sign a 3-year deal at 35M. Would anyone sign him to that?
I think they go to a 4 year deal, with the last year being a poison pill year, where Dak can get out and Jerry can use a 4 year deal to redo contracts as needed.

 This simply can not be. right?
You're right, sheldon.
Does he also “hate” that he has 3 SBs and Romo has ZERO and that Troy is known as a winner and Romo a choker?

does he “hate” that too?
No, sheldon. Aikman was a better qb than romo. But do you really think troy doesn't consider himself the best analyst in the biz? Even though romo makes more money. More than double. In summation, loved aikman the qb. But can't stand the omnibrooding aikman the analyst.

but you would sit straight up on your chair, focused like Laser if he says anything good about Dalton and will be the first one here, posting his comments...we know how you work....agenda driven

And you would be wrong as usual again.

The only agenda I have is for the Cowboys as a team.

What Aikman says has no bearing on this team. Aikman never knew or cared how a salary cap affects a team in the NFL. Aikman was always more about himself than the team in my opinion.

If someone here posts about what Aikman said I will comment. Otherwise, whatever Aikman and his equally obnoxious sidekick, Joe Buck, blabber about does not phase me the least. Romo is already ten times better than Aikman as an announcer. I wouldn't care much about what Romo says about the Cowboys player personnel and the cap though.

Feel free to search the archives, but I think almost all my comments about Aikman have been towards the negative.

And for the same reply for the umpteenth time we see wannabe GM Aikmans dumb comments.

Aikman begged the FO to draft David Lafleur instead of HOFer Tony Gonzales at the TE position, and we’ve all seen how dumb that was....

Additionally, Troy knows that signing Rayne Dakota will all but guarantee that another Cowboys Qb will not hoist a Lombardi for the next 5 years, which we all know keeps Troys legacy alive.

Most of us know that If a Qb like Warren Moon had Troys caliber of players around he would have set records that would surpass Aikmans.

Overrated in his judge of talent and insincere pandering at best

Yeah Troy knows more about QB’s than TE’s. Go figure.

so do you buy into what Cowturd said comparing Dak and Dalton? you buy into that?

As an engineer, show me the data to back up what one is trying to say. Sure. I looked at the data he provided. I am a data-driven person. No matter what side one is on, that is some good data. Yes, no data is perfect but this helps to put things in perspective concerning Dak and Dalton.

I said early on, or even before the season began, that this season would give us good data on the team and the individual players. I think we learned a lot and can make some decisions going forward. What did we learn? We learned that Dak is not worth a large guaranteed contract. Even more so with the injury now. The team can win with a QB like Dalton as well as a team with Dak. Dak was 1-3 with a gift-wrapped win thanks to Atlanta. So, basically Dak was 0-4 to begin the year. Pitiful for a QB making $30M. We need to use the saved money on defense. We learned that neither Dak or Zeke are capable of carrying the team. The offensive cupboard is loaded and we do not need a star QB to succeed. We can move on from Tyron Smith and Collins and slide Zach Martin to OT. We learned that Awuzie and Lewis are so-so CBs. I would not get into a bidding war for either. We learned that LVE is fragile like Lee and can't be relied on. We learned that Jaylon Smith is pedestrian. We learned that we need a complete LB makeover. We got no improvement at safety unfortunately.

Sunday's game will tell us a lot more about Dak vs Dalton. We shall see with a playoff spot on the line how Dalton will perform.

Did the Cowboys actually draft LeFleur over Tony Gonzalez? I did not know that.

Yeah, give him a big contract for making no one else better around him.

Dak was throwing for 450 and we still lost because of our awful defense. Had he not been injured, and with the defense playing better, we would be 2nd in the conference.

The team was playing from behind when he was throwing for 450, at the end of the day there's no drop in production from the receiver position with Dak being out which raises the question. Who is Dak making better? This is Dalton's first year in this offense with a backup o-line now go ahead and give him a grade.
