Dalton throws for 300+ yds: fans say keep him. Dak threw for 450+ yds 3 times, fans say cut him?

Daltons demand: 3 mils/year
Daks demand: 40+ / year.

Not hard to understand why people tend the way they do.

Give yourself the weekend to think about that and you'll get it also.

Well yea, lol- if you make bad decisions..,,,none of the strategy matters.

And I am by no means a draft expert. I know sometimes people reach for a player at a position of need that turns out to be not quite on par with the expectation and they passed up on a future pro bowler the position they felt was solid. It happens.
It’s not like I would pass up a can’t miss linebacker or safety if the talent was just off the charts.
our defensive drafts in the past 15 years have been plain horrendous. we have drafted one player we could say is an impact player and that's Lawrence. the last impact player we drafted was Ware in 2005.

my opinion is that comes from the top. we (Jerry) as an organization are not focused on defense. we (jerry) is focused on profits and jersey sales and butts in seats...Offense sells. Defense wins...so Jerry and the whole organization is focused on offense. that's why we have picked so many impact and performing offensive players and not defense. that's why we have given so many contracts to offensive side and not defensive (they are not good).

we are even lazy in FA and trades for defensive players, with signings like Hardy, Griffin, Poe, Worley, even lazy trade for Quinn. then not understanding that keeping Byron Jones could be beneficial to the team instead we signed 4 players for about as much and none are on the team any longer.

Jerry needs to let of some short term profits. focus the organization on defense. even bring in outside help (former coaches, GM consultants, etc.) and hit a few on defense this draft. I don't care if we do not draft a single offensive player this year, in fact that would make me happy. 11 draft picks...just by shear numbers and luck, we could hit on a couple.

Dalton had a couple good games & the sky is falling. He's an old veteran who hasn't done squat since Dak went down. Putting him in the same sentence as Dallas' young signal caller/leader is simply ludicrous

I wouldn't say that we're lazy in free agency. We just don't invest in it outside of our own players.

All of the players that you mentioned were on short-term low dollar contracts. That is by design and I prefer it that way rather than signing Brandon Carr.

Yea......nothing fixes poor management or bad luck (poor scouting.) I hate the Taco pick. So many red flags from a physical standpoint for a pick that high at that position. But if he had hit and been Randy Gregory minus the suspensions.....and to your point - we kept Jones......I’d say we’d have an elite D right now. Jaylon would be able to just be athletic and chase instead of having to read in space. Remember how good he looked his first year?

You're nuts if you truly believe keeping Dalton as starter will only cost $3 million a year. Try around $25 million but for much less production compared with Dak. There is a reason why the best producing QBs get paid the most. Go learn some football.

Cowboys will be experiencing a cap squeeze that prevents signing a proven QB as back up who can start on many teams. Dalton is gone.

we made one investment in our own players that I would say is producing, although I wanted more and that would be Lawrence...we didn't invest in Jones and we should have. and we invested in Jaylon, Crawford which was a big mistake.

Yet the so called 'washed up' Dalton beat Philly in the 2nd to last week of the season to keep division title hopes alive.......something Dak failed to do....so what does that say about Dak? lol

Crazy times we are living in.
It's all about perceived concepts..

some think money and cap value combined decides make the difference.

Others believe high quality in drafting is the answer.

Some think selecting players of lower player value and coaching them up and improving the player is the answer.

There is no magic beans.

I think once Will Clay arrived we reversed everything.

"I believe in Clay"

Should be put on a "tee shirt" and sold before this coming draft.

Obi-wan you are our only hope.

while I agree with you 100 percent it’s more about the cost per yard not the total yards.

those that dislike dak and don’t want to sign him don’t feel the value is there at 35 mil....but for a dalton at 2 mil they are stoked

BS, these same clowns were dissing Dak when he was getting 2 million per year for 4 years.

Unless now they are going to admit they were completely wrong about Dak and now its just the money that they dont like.

k.....

they are clowns yes

but at the same time they also see value....I think the issue most “dak hater” have is the perceived overpayment per year

I doubt anyone would argue at 20 mil per year....

it’s not whether dak is good or not, everyone agrees he’s good....:it’s what he’s worth

I guess the question is can you have a competitive team if you pay him 35-40 million. I don't believe you can. We don't really have a competitive team right now on defense and the tag of 30 mill for a QB is part of that. That and wasting money on Jaylon and Crawford and not to mention guys like Demarcus who, while he rushes the passer really well forgets that he needs to contain the edge on EVERY play as well.

So if you plan on making perfect decisions at every other position then you can win paying Dak 35 million. I don't think Dak can carry that salary cap weight onto the field and make the difference you lose at other positions.

However, paying Dalton10-15 million, you could probably seal up that D if you make decent decisions.

You talk about being competitive, then want a worse QB. LOL

All credibility is shot right there. If your solution to being competitive is to take out Dak and put in Dalton or some roll the dice rookie, then your solution is garbage.

LOL...........so your going to build your SB team with Dalton and another 20 million to spend in FA? Dumbest thing I ever heard. Your going to add ONE potential pro bowl defender with 20 million. Basically Jones the CB we just let go. So you would rather have Dalton and Jones than Dak?

Sorry, but thats the dumbest thing I have EVER heard.

Bottom line is you Dak trolls are basically squabling over like 5 million dollars in paying Dak. Hilarious. And the best part is you actually think that angle makes some kind of sense.

These clowns just go from one excuse to the other why we should get rid of Dak. Bottom line is they cant live with the shame. And half these clowns love Zeke and never say a peep about his laughable resigning.

20 million per year? LOL Just a case of clueless fans not understanding QB contracts. In 3- 5 years any team with a top 10 QB will be paying their QB around 35 million per year. And they will be glad to do it.

Dak is the best player on the Cowboys. He is asking for market value. Easy easy decision. The Dak trolls are just going to have to continue to cry. And no doubt continue to blame Dak for anything and everything simply because he has made them look like fools for doubting him.

And no, everyone doesnt agree Dak is good. Thats laughable. And Dak is better than good.

Dak has actually turned out better than even I predicted. I thought it was a long shot that he would get to ELITE status. Like Romo, thought he would hover in the 2nd tier. But if Dak continues to play like he has most of last year and the first 4 games of this year, he is top 5. Especially with guys like Brees and Brady retiring in the next year or two.
