You gotta honestly assess the health of both starting OT. If you don’t have both their 1st rounder should be in position for a capable starter.

a GM that have accountibility would be #1 and be a thing to fix every thing else.

all the good nfl team have a owner who is also gm who cant be fired...oh wait it is just the cowboys and BENGALS. maybe it is not the best way to run a nfl team after all!

Problem is Andy has probably played himself into a decent raise. Can you afford to tag dak and give dalton a raise?

the position this team needs to focus on is DT.
I could actually see Dalton going back to Cincy. They like him there. Burrow may not be ready for the season opener.

If they learned anything this season, which they probably didn't, was the importance of o line and d line play. It was a rash of injuries that killed the o line. They did a pretty good job of holding it together and got a little better as the season progressed. D line is another issue. Specifically interior line play. They got little to nothing from the dts on the roster. Which lead to garbage play from average line backers.

Draft a dt or 2. Line backers. Safties. Corners. This d needs a lot of help.

I will take a different road here, backup QB. It has become the second most important position in NFL. Without a quality backup your season ends if starter is hurt and its a rare year that starter doesn't miss a game or two. I think the Jones should get real credit here. They may have missed on other FAs but they hit this one. I best they make a run to resign Dalton.
NO No way no how all Defense DVB, DT, and LB well and long before offense is mentioned first 3 rounds DEFENSE

DT is more important than CB if you want to build a good defense. Look at the Giants...outside of Logan Ryan, none of their DBs are really anything special. But they have two stud DTs with Dexter Lawrence and Dalvin Tomlinson who can shut down the run. When you're able to stop the run like that, you force the offense to be one dimensional and scheme to help your DBs.

Most pressing on field need is at DT. But I feel they need to go CB 1st rnd because of the drop-off in talent after the big 3. As far as coaching goes, I was firmly in the college coach group. Meyer/Rhule was my 1A and 1B. Rhule has done decent in Carolina with perceived less talent. Meyer is being suggested as a heavy favorite in Jax this yr. If those guys surpass McCarthy next yr in wins I may have a breakdown

Lawrence and Gregory are solid at DE.

That’s about it on the defense.

You know, this post was actually a revelation to me. I honestly had no idea Mike Brown was both owner/GM of the Bengals. I thought Jerry was the only one who rolled that way.

Obviously its GM

Even if you upgraded one of the positions, another one would get more exposed.

Lets say we had two decent DTs, our secondary would still get torched. And thats on the architect of this team
