Did Dalton play himself into a starter contract?

Only in the eyes of the disillusioned here. He was below average on a 6-10 team. Pretty much played exactly like he did last year. He’ll be a backup again next year.

Dalton would have taken the team to the playoffs if he played the whole season, especially with at least Zach Martin in the line-up. He didn’t need everything to be perfect.

Hes garbage under pressure. He looked good against the worst defenses. Straight trash

His give up throw on third down was inexcusable.

I'd give him more leeway on 4th down, but on third? Nope.

He's a very pedestrian QB with questionable football IQ.

Dalton was sacked 6 times today on 9 hits.
Bring him back I would like to see Dalton play with the OL at full strength.
I've already seen Dak play with that luxury.

Much cheaper garbage than Dak, whose monumental performance against third string corners on the Eagles to choke away another playoffs last year was true greatness...

Only good thing to come from this loss is that Andy Dalton will be hopefully gone from Dallas next season. Bengal fans said he'd choke. And they were sadly right.

If Dalton needs everything to be "perfect" around him in order to win then why would it be worth bringing him back at the starter? This is the logic that's used with Dak.
After today this fool ain’t starting anywhere. He’s done and he sucks.

Yeah, he probably lost his chance of starting somewhere in 2021. He once again confirmed his choke artist persona in big games. It wasn't just the Bengals.

Maybe some desperate team signs him as a stopgap to a rookie, or some team wants to make sure its not totally obvious they're tanking. Otherwise, Andy will be Dak's backup next year, most likely.

he can read a defense unlike the other guy and knows he has to get the ball out fast because of the weak offensive line. Being able to read the defense is what we've been missing with the other guy. When the offensive line was missing one guy, read that again, one guy, everybody blamed the offensive line. Let that slow reader play behind this line and he would have been in shell shock again like a few year back against Atlanta.

This is a good one...perfectly ridiculous.

Well like I told my buddy. If Dalton signs with washington they will be the favorites to win the division.

True. For his ability to "read a defense" he sure held on to the ball for way too long on at least half his sacks and never had the lead against a pretty terrible Giants team.

MAYBE if the D produced a 3rd turnover, Dalton could have won it. But to expect the D to produce 3 turnovers every game just for a CHANCE to win is not realistic.
