it was NOT CLEAR rules have changed

the ball was under control doesnt mean it would have been overturned, its allowed to touch the ground as long as it doent move..thats tough one..
Who cares,, throw the flag,, its worth the evaluation

....the worst that happens is you lose a timeout and a challenge late in a game that you might need later on. You don't have an infinite amount of these things.
You save and use your challenges for the ones in front of you, not the hypothetical ones that might can happen.

We gave up three points to extend our season and ended up limiting what we could do offensively. That’s where I’m worried. That he coached himself into a box. Whether he calls it or not is the way football goes, but giving up the swing of points is more the issue. Whatever went wrong on that sequence has to be fixed.

Then you lose a challenge and a timeout. You understand you get penalized for being wrong here, yes? There are consequences.

Either way, we had another drive. We didn't score. The biggest issue in this game was the offensive line and they wouldn't have gotten better in the wild card round either.

Yes 100%. That decision was worse than anything Garrett did over 10 years and that's saying something. He needs to stop thinking about food and about the game. Get his head into gear. He has to go.
Never thought I would give JG any props,, but at least he knew where the red flag was.

No, you use a challenge when you think it's fit to challenge, and you preserve timeouts when you're in a moment of dire time management. The likelihood of a returning a kick in the modern NFL with significant yardage is slim, so you have an entire football field to drive down. Timeouts matter here.

My issues is you leaving out the fact that there is no consequences to losing a challenge, there is. You left it out for a reason.

That is inconsequential at that point in the game,, who cares about the time out...lol

Why anyone is defending McCarthy is astounding

It's not about McCarthy himself, it's understanding the freakin' game of football.

Is BB a bad coach because he made a terrible challenge last week with an EVEN CLEARER possession play? The one that he lost and made him slam the phone? Again, HC don't make these decisions on their own. He got word up top that it wasn't worth the challenge, HC will trust the judgement of the booth.

Don’t waste your breath with these clowns. They live to be able to hate. They will never change. They can’t, it’s just their DNA.

Jesus Christ, YOU WORRY ABOUT TIMEOUTS WHEN IT IS LATE IN THE GAME AND YOU HAVE AN ENTIRE FREAKIN' FIELD TO DRIVE DOWN AND YOU GET WORD FROM THE BOOTH THAT IT WASN'T CLEAR.

Understand football, you mongs. AGAIN, it's the same reason Bill Belichick, one of the GOAT HCs, made a horrific challenge last week BECAUSE THEY LISTEN TO THE GUYS IN THE BOOTH.

Why not blame the guy in the booth?

Lol. How about we get rid of the entire franchise? Let them play in the Japanese football league. Every single player and associate associated with this team is putrid.
They would kick aess in the Japanese league,, Im all for the Dallas Cowboys of the JFL,, maybe we can recruit a few of them big wrestlers that wear butt thongs.

Settle down and take your meds... MM probably never heard a word from upstairs,, but he did get to see the same thing that all of us watching on our couches saw.. he probably saw it twice, but I need to go back and confirm, but doesnt matter,, that situation at that point in the game, that flag always gets thrown.

Terrible hire to begin with. What more needs to be seen? Does anyone expect MM to get better over time? You can't lay these types of elementary errors to a short preseason, COVID, etc. Will Jerry's pride prevail - to the detriment of the team - yet again? You bet it will.

Aside from the terrible no-challenge, and the inexcusable failure to go for a two-point conversion, here is one more thing I noticed that affirmed my thought that McCarthy should be fired: after the personal foul by Lewis, McCarthy could be seen talking to the official, making a flop gesture. Yes, the Giants player flopped, but it was after the obvious penalty. Yet instead of tearing into Lewis on the sideline, he did what any other Cowboys coach or player would do: make excuses. This is a diseased culture. If you are going to make Moore the next HC, which we all know is coming, just do it now and get it over with. You think another year learning under McCarthy is going to improve his chances of success? Moore will probably get 5 years to fail as HC before the next change, so just start the clock now.

Ignoring the no challenge, I have no idea what MM actually does. The ST coach does his thing. Nolan does his. Moore does his. There is no disciplinary action. No in game great decision making. I don't see great game plans week in and week out.

I thought that Garrett was actively a bad coach. MM just seems like . . . nothing. He seems to have no impact on the organization.

He "probably" never got word from upstairs? LOL what are you talking about? An important play like that, and he didn't go upstairs? Holy ****.

I'm out. You folks are out of your mind. Keep being dumb.

Exactly.

A proper HC throws the challenge flag. It's such a monumental moment in a tight game that to not throw the challenge flag for at worst case was a questionable call or in reality, an incomplete pass is nothing short of brainless. Simple as that. Situational football. It was worth burning one timeout even if the call was somehow not reversed.
