We need a new LB core

LVE is made of glass, and honestly wasn't looking to good before the injury. Smith is not a starter, him and LVE are living off the 2018 season, it has been two years already, get over that season. Lee, no longer has it plus he also made of glass.
So who are the top rated linebackers in this draft that aren't injury prone?

Agreed. Along with interior d line and defensive backfield. It’s going to take more than just what they can get in the draft to fix this defense. Hopefully there’s an impact player in free agency that can be had to take some pressure off of having to fill all these needs in the draft.

Strengthen the middle of this d : DT, LB, and safeties. Corners needed too.

I’d sure as hell make both current LBers compete for jobs next year at the very least. I’d cut Smith, but dumb and dumber won’t

Not all off them but certainly up the middle
But it’s not gonna get fixed soon
Can’t cut jaylon this year but getting a LB this year and another next year that’s starter quality could save a ton going forward
A DT and a LB both this year is possible

This team is a dumpster fire pretty much on defense. I think several position upgrades are needed, but how much can you hope to fix in one off season? They have their work cut out for them the next few years.

We have 8 picks in the first 5 rounds (the 8th borderline as a comp 5th rounder). I honestly think 6 of those should go towards defense and it's not crazy to think 3-4 of those could be starters next year, the way this team has drafted recently.

We should take the best CB available with our first rounder (heck I'd trade down to 15 if they see a few equivalent players) and then DT or LB in the next couple rounds.

I also believe LB is a value position in FA - I think we can bolster that position in FA without breaking the bank.
