Boise State was praying he would resurrect this dying school. Luckily...Jerry appreciates having a young genius coordinator.....not having to regret seeing another Sean Payton leave..and bring a Super Bowl to another city.
Huh? Kellen Moore <<<< Sean Payton

You need a new team to follow. I would suggest the Packers or Chiefs because it’s clear you are not a Cowboy fan.
Bring hanging with these bums since 1970................ Jerry Jones has ripped the heart out of this entire organization. These last couple of years have been fricking horrible and it starts with the leaders on this team. Blow up and start all over again because a broke down QB with a too often injured offensive line isn't going nowhere. As for the defense, it's just as bad if not worse you, but you already know all of this and you're fine with mediocre teams year after year after year. It's time for the real fans to stand up and say enough is enough and boycott this team until JJ is dead and gone or he sells the dam team.

I’m good with this. He’s still learning. Atleast we could score with a backup qb and not having our starters on the line. I’m happy with this

Was that why?

How many other NFL assistant deals are up after the season?

How many signed an extension yesterday?

For all we know the extension was the reason he didnt take the Boise job, which we have seen from Jerry before...and makes this something different.

The only advantage to the team is it prevents him from making a lateral move, which he would be stupid to attempt anyway.

This smells of Jerry opening the checkbook to keep him around as HC in waiting....which I dont particularly want to see.

My opinion, hence the comment.
1. His contract was expiring at the end of the season.
2. Boise was trying very hard to get him.
3. In order to keep him, Jerry had to take immediate action.

Why? What would Moore could have done?

Gone to Boise? That's my point. He gave him the deal to stay here, not because his contract was up.

It is when it comes to the footnote on his contract that says he will be considered for HC position once MM gets canned. But for me, working under JJ would not be high on my list.---at least not long term.

yea I'd never want to work for Jerry Jones. It would be terrible...

Good lord. He needed to extend him anyway. Boise’s interest moved up the timeline to get the deal done.

Yeah that's what it was.

We absolutely needed to keep Jerry's next genius.

But please....answer me what Moores options were if Boise didnt want him and there was no extension....yesterday.

What was the urgency to resign him. Explain please.

If your answer is to keep him from Boise you made my point for me.

Boise wanted him. Your entire premise is faulty.

So Jerry took out the checkbook to keep his HC in waiting in the building, yes?

I have a problem with that.

That's something different than his contract simply being up.

You have to set aside this obsession with “next HC in waiting” stuff

Every team in the league tries to keep their young, talented, coaches happy and loyal to the team. Every business does it for that matter.

Retaining talent is critical for any organization. You never know what’s going to happen and it’s a foolish manager who doesn’t prepare for multiple possibilities

If you think Moore is a no talent scrub just say so. At least that is a football opinion.

All of this nonsensical reading of the tea leaves and mind reading is silly and pointless

If Boise wanted him, JJ should’ve let them have him!

Please let Dak free!

KM ain’t Sean Payton..

You said it was a passing league. Not a RB league. I shared a specific, recent, tangible example of how running the ball leads to success.

The fact that the OL is injured has no bearing on the discussion. You say it’s a passing league, I say you still need to run effectively to win games.

Passing league, running league? I don't care if it's a bowling league as long as we win. I have not looked it up now that the playoffs are set but we know that 90% of the teams that finish in the top 10 rushing the ball make the playoffs while it's under 40% for the top 10 passing teams. People need to get off that whole "passing league" noise. It's a balance league.. meaning that you can't flat out suck at either mode of attack if you want to win.

Linehan ran the ball first and Dak played within himself and the system. It worked.

Zeke got suspended in 2017 and everything took a step back in 2017.

Then KM took over to coach his BFF Dak and the offense shifted to a passing attack. And while the yardage stats have been impressive (thanks to lots of 2nd half passing comebacks), our efficiency stats have been meh.

Again— I am not debating that our current roster is not able to execute in the running game dept. I agree with you.

You said this is a passing league— and I think that a good running attack is still needed to win and contend. IMO— KM has shown a prioritization on the pass, and he has not shown enough consistency in the red zone, along with an inability to start games strong and efficiently to warrant a 3 year extension.

I’m fine agreeing to disagree

Here are the top 10 rushing teams this season:

1) Ravens - in the playoffs
2) Titans - in the playoffs.
3) Browns - in the playoffs
4) Patriots - missed
5) Vikings - just missed
6) Saints - 2 seed
7) Cardinals - just missed
8) Packers - 1 seed
9) Eagles - missed
10) Rams - in the playoffs

So 6 of 10 this year. top 3 all in ..

Now the top passing teams:

1) Chiefs - 1 seed
2) Bucs - in
3) Bills - in
4) Texans - out
5) Falcongs - out
6) Chargers - out
7) Raiders - out
8 ) Cowboys - out
9) Packers - 1 seed
10Lions - LOL!

So passing teams made the playoffs at a 40% clip, which is actually an improvement over last year when it was 30%. But people keep repeating "it's a passing league." Why? Maybe we should rethink that whole "passing league" thing..

Except Kellen is terrible. He isn't a young talent. He's young. But not talented. 2 failed seasons gets extensions around here, though. Because that is how Jerry rolls. Took us 10 years to finally move on from Garrett and technically we didn't even fire him...

Kellen has no feel for the game. We have talent on the offense so his stupidity is masked. He does the opposite of what is working. Not good in the redzone. Boneheaded calls. No idea how to adjust.

Imagine if our talent on offense actually got to play with real offensive minds like Andy Reid. But nope. They got stuck with Garrett, Kellen Moore and McCarthy.

Good stuff. And I totally agree. Running the ball and playing good D has always led to playoff success. Having an efficient and effective passing game is more important than accruing shock yardage stats.

So, is he getting $8 million a year? I wonder how much he makes.
