I grew up in the 80s, enjoyed the 92,93,95 super bowl teams. Always loved Romo and Dez.
Yet I found myself telling my 8 year old son after the game that even though it was over it was one of my favorite seasons as a cowboys fan. He was holding back his tears and asked me how I could say this.
I have an 8, 11, and 18 year old son. Of all of my 3 kids my youngest is the only one who actually fell in love with football. This season he became a fanatic. He watched every game with me. So for this reason I told him this was my favorite football season. I now have a little football buddy I get to pass on my love of this game.

That’s my silver lining.

Funny story..

I remember crying my eyes out as a little kid when we got beat by Detroit in the playoffs..

I guess it was the 90 or 91 season.

Then we went on to become a dynasty and win 3 Superbowls.

Hopefully it turns out similar for your kid.

I was just glad we had football. Once Dak went down, I wasn't expecting much. Not many teams would have done anything without their QB1 and half the OLine missing most of the season. I just wanted to see the team play hard and also get look at some young players. It would have been nice if we had made the playoffs and made some noise but that would have just been gravy.

I may have done the same thing after Niners beat us with the Catch. Unfortunately we did not become a dynasty but it was the end of the dynasty and a decade of misery.

My oldest is too young (3) to comprehend anything football wise but loved chilling with me on Sundays at times. Has an interest in trying to toss a football too.

I just need to watch my mouth closely now. Don't have any rants but an occasional **** or f bomb would slip under my breath.

I cried as a kid when we lost 44-0 to Da Bears.

There was no happy ending at the end of the season. Only Dickerson pounding us into the ground in the playoffs.

Nice OP.

Why did you have to torture your son and let him become a Cowboys fan? That’s child abuse.

That’s funny. I used to tell my wife this was the reason I never pushed my first 2 sons into loving football. That’s and I want them to choose their own path. I just always hoped they would choose a path we could bond over. Luckily they have just not football.

I was certain I would be tearing you apart with that heading but good story. I became a fan watching them lose their first SB to Pitt.

The ‘85 defense. The absolute best to ever take the field.

Ditka actually apologized to Landry after that game.

My father in law in the last year of his life was the year before Troy Aikman , didn't matter they were 0-16 or whatever. That's when he passed the torch to me. I miss him the Cowboys always remind me of him. As long as I am breathing, win or loose Cowboy Nation. Thanks to everyone on here for being fans through thick and thin.To better days ..

I’m guilty as well with my daughter. She’s 13 and says they always lose. There is a whole generation who thinks the Cowboys are basically the Browns or Jets.
