-Think many underestimated the Giants and their defense. They confused Dalton all day and forced him to hold onto the ball too long. This was an area in which Dalton struggled early on after he replaced Dak.

-OL really had a poor day. Couldn't protect Dalton and the run game just couldn't get going. Bright side is, with Leonard Williams big day, he is going to cost the Giants even more to resign in the off-season.

-The book on Andy Dalton with Cincy was that he wasn't a big game QB. We saw this today. His accuracy was all over the place, where the Giants had multiple chances to intercept some of his passes. Gutsy performance, but he needed to play better. I don't aspect him returning next season.
Shultz was leading rec today for dallas, and he has been consistent all year. He did good,
but jones boys will have him back on the bench when jarwin is back.

-Dalton Schultz has probably been the most consistent starter throughout the yr. He wasn't even guaranteed a roster spot this year and he finally has broken out. Depth at the position at the start of the yr looked very thin, now it is a strength.

-Outside of the opening and last drive prior to half, thought the defense played well. Strong against the run, were able to get off the field throughout the day. However, some real bonehead penalties, what was Lewis thinking with that headbutt?

-Although more self-induced, Cowboy Defense still was able to generate more defensive turnovers. Wilson just has those natural instincts, where he is always around the football.

-Was somewhat disappointed with the lack of pressure today against a OL who really has struggled, especially lately. Daniel Jones had a clean pocket to work with the majority of the day.

-Was impressed with Diggs and his long speed. Slaton is perhaps the fastest player on the Giants team, where Diggs appeared to be able to match his speed down the field.

-I just don't see enough from our secondary players to warrant a 2nd contract. Team can upgrade and at a much lower cost.

-MM should of used the challenge flag, but as we have seen, many of these calls don't get overturned even with clear evidence. They usually go to how it was called on the field. Thought we got a bad break on the fumble late in the game.

Although disappointing, this is what this franchise truly needed, secure a top 10 pick. They have a war chest of picks and they are going to need it as this defense needs a major overhaul.

Go Washington as I do not want to hear it from the Giant fans all off-season long.
good post, I agree on most, but that fumble, one clip showed giant player had the ball and was on his back so he was down with possesion.
Cowboys pulled it out after that.
That is where if a team is hustling to the ball, a cowboy might have recovered that.
however if they had, kellen would have called 4 pass plays in a row, and they still fail to score.
Shultz was leading rec today for cowboys, he was one of the few who played good today.
Jones boys will put him back on bench as soon as jarwin is back.

-Think many underestimated the Giants and their defense. They confused Dalton all day and forced him to hold onto the ball too long. This was an area in which Dalton struggled early on after he replaced Dak.

Good point. There is not as much difference between pro teams as people think. The top two or three teams and the bottom two or three teams excluded.

-OL really had a poor day. Couldn't protect Dalton and the run game just couldn't get going. Bright side is, with Leonard Williams big day, he is going to cost the Giants even more to resign in the off-season.

We haven’t been able to run the ball, at will, all season long. Today was no different. If we wanted to win today we should have thrown the ball 50 times.

OL decisions are critical. If we bank on Tyron and Collins coming back and being All Pro, and they aren’t, it will be a big mail in the coffin for us.

-The book on Andy Dalton with Cincy was that he wasn't a big game QB. We saw this today. His accuracy was all over the place, where the Giants had multiple chances to intercept some of his passes. Gutsy performance, but he needed to play better. I don't aspect him returning next season.

Dalton hasn’t played as well as I thought he would all year long. Part of it is the OL play. Part of it is Dalton just isn’t that good. I was somewhat wrong about what I expected his level of play to be.

-Dalton Schultz has probably been the most consistent starter throughout the yr. He wasn't even guaranteed a roster spot this year and he finally has broken out. Depth at the position at the start of the yr looked very thin, now it is a strength.

I’m not sure why people are surprised by Schultz. He was a pretty complete tight end at Stanford. He was a victim being on the wrong end of preferential treatment (Witten). Witten was a waste of skin his lest several seasons.

Schultz is not a rookie. He has been getting NFL nutrition, coaching and practice time. He is just finally getting playing time.

-Outside of the opening and last drive prior to half, thought the defense played well. Strong against the run, were able to get off the field throughout the day. However, some real bonehead penalties, what was Lewis thinking with that headbutt?

The defense hasn’t played well all year long. I think it’s due to poor play up the middle of the defense. But hey, what do I know.

-Although more self-induced, Cowboy Defense still was able to generate more defensive turnovers. Wilson just has those natural instincts, where he is always around the football.

We are built for flash on defense. All the draft capital and cap dollars on the DL is at DE, and it shows. Gallimore is the one bright spot. I think he will continue to pay dividends.

-Was somewhat disappointed with the lack of pressure today against a OL who really has struggled, especially lately. Daniel Jones had a clean pocket to work with the majority of the day.

Need inside pressure. We have none.

-Was impressed with Diggs and his long speed. Slaton is perhaps the fastest player on the Giants team, where Diggs appeared to be able to match his speed down the field.

I’m not sure what Diggs is yet, but he has the pedigree from Bama and a pro WR brother. I’m willing to watch him grow.

-I just don't see enough from our secondary players to warrant a 2nd contract. Team can upgrade and at a much lower cost.

Lewis needs to GO. He’s a head case.

Chido may be a late bloomer. I’m ok with keeping him for depth (hopefully only depth).

-MM should of used the challenge flag, but as we have seen, many of these calls don't get overturned even with clear evidence. They usually go to how it was called on the field. Thought we got a bad break on the fumble late in the game.

Cowboys never get the calls. That call would have stood because it’s the Cowboys.

Although disappointing, this is what this franchise truly needed, secure a top 10 pick. They have a war chest of picks and they are going to need it as this defense needs a major overhaul.

Agreed. I am excited about this draft. Hopefully we make great use of those picks.

Go Washington as I do not want to hear it from the Giant fans all off-season long.

Today's loss came down to one difference - one team actually invested in their defensive line, the other team didn't - guess which one won?
There’s also another division rival with the best DL in the league that whooped us handily and easily twice...it’s an important unit. Not saying we didn’t try as we did sign Poe and McCoy it just didn’t work out but we HAVE to improve mightily there in the offseason. #1 priority IMO esp if we are sticking with the same coaching staff

Spot on with Schultz....... I’m not sure you can start Jar over him coming off an ACL. Even with his contract. Jar, like Schultz have never done squat because of Witt
Witt on the phone with JJ this morning.

I agree with your post in total, it's just this I'm tired of hearing about. Every time Dallas has offensive problems against a team with a supposed good defense, that's the excuse. Well they have a good defense, or Dak has no one to throw to, and even bad weather. This going back to 2017. Truth is, this offense just isn't that good. Hasn't been since 2016.

Yesterday was different, they aren't suppose to be good without their starting QB, TE, two Tackles, all-pro Guard and their RB playing on one leg.

yeah I am not sure they should bring him back at this point.
I won’t complain if they did. But won’t be hurt if they didn’t.
Think I rather see what Anae can do with meaningful reps at the position.

I think we have a better chance drafting 10th than later in the round. We should be able to land a quality starter.

Seriously doubt anyone is bragging about winning this train wreck of a division.
You don't know Giant Fans, they thought they were SB contenders after beating Seattle.

solid analysis.
was disappointed in our pass rush tho it did heat up late.
schultz and diggs are bright spots...as is donovan wilson.
neville gallimore had a nice game.
i still think they could bring both awuzie and lewis back cheaply and for depth...not as starters.
mccarthy should've challenged but i'm not sure we get the call.
the fumble at the end :banghead:.

I would really like to move on, but understand they are going to need numbers at the position. I think many will be surprised what Awuzie gets on the open market.

I thought Dalton was terribly inaccurate more so than lack of protection.

On first watch (and there wont be a second), I thought Steele played very well.
Dalton was awful until the Cowboys got that interception.

Our offense was offensive. I think the biggest issue was Zeke being limited. In late season games you have to be able to run the ball and he didn't seem to be 100%. It also would've been nice to at least get martin back for this game.

Washington winning just makes this lose better with regard to draft position. I wanted a win, but this team wasn't going to win any postseason games.

It all worked out in the end. The Giants fans are hating on the Eagles, as we would be but we don't need any new reasons to hate on them, we didn't tank, just weren't a good team and we get a decent draft pick.

McC doesn't have to deal with the failure to challenge that catch, guess he fears Karma for that Dez catch in GB? Oh no, I didn't do that, did I? Well that discussion can get us close to FA time.

The NFC East should not be sending any team to the playoffs.

In my mind, there is nothing to debate.
It hurts but we are and most likely will keep being a mediocre team.

I was like 16 when we lats won a Super Bowl. I dont think it will happen in the next 10 years.
Soon, good players, promising rookies etc will not want to come to play on this circus. Now more often we are in "league" with traditionally loosing teams like hte JAGS,JETS ETC. It is the team I root for and that will most likely never change, but I just cant get used to rooting for a team I know will keep loosing.

Coaches have come and go, players, staff etc.
Yet the main problem still remains

It will be very interesting to see the role Schultz plays next year. He will be in his 4th year- the final yr of his rookie deal. Jarwin got the big contract last year and Jerry tends to make the payroll determine playing time. Schultz showed this year that he is a viable, dependable weapon with 63 receptions and 4 TDs. The Schultz-Jarwin combo will be very interesting going into next season.

One of the most disappointing players on defense has been Aldon Smith. Aside from a few 2 games this year he’s been terrible.
Aldon Smith, Tank and Armstrong do the dirty work that many fans don’t see during the game. Those guys do a great job against the run. If we bring back Aldon we will be set at defensive end. We just can’t overpay him.

I agree with Tank but Armstrong and Aldon could easily be replaced, neither guy should have been getting more playing time than Gregory
