Had Dak been healthy this would be more like 1,400. He was hitting him over the middle over and over.

I was absolutely ecstatic about drafting Lamb (and still am). That said, he is not without criticism. He’s got a bit of Gallupism in that he makes the spectacular play but has a penchant for bungling the routine. I would also say that I was a little underwhelmed with his YAC ability which was his calling card at OU. Given the type of player he appears to be, I fully expect him to come back stronger and improve on his consistency.

More than acceptable for a 1st Rd WR.

That said- I am still a bit underwhelmed. Drops galore uncharacteristic of his history and disappears in games after quick starts. Not as elusive as I expected either.

I agree with this, he certainly wasn't all world but I see the potential. Dude needs to eat some Big Mac's this offseason though, he looks scrawny/small to me. He's tough though, didn't get hurt but seems like he could bulk up a little.

Dallas has 3 very good WRs so you aren't likely to see one go crazy with stats.
But CeeDee's overall season was phenomenal by rookie WR standards.
It may not feel as great because Jefferson had a best ever type rookie season.

But 935 yards, 5 TDs and a QB rating of 100 when targets are awesome stats for a rookie.
The 7 drops are an area to work on but hardly crazy high. Gallup had 6 and Jeudy had 10.

Lambs shows explosiveness and quickness. He got tripped up a few times that just barely prevented long plays so you can see the danger he possesses.
He will undoubtedly get stronger and add some good weight this off-season but no one in Dallas is sad they drafted Lamb.

FWIW CeeDee was on a 1325 yard receiving pace with Dak as starter.
The entire offense obviously passed for far fewer yards as Dak was out but they also needed to go more 2 TE sets and play ball control.

And so it begins. The Gripe Group starts the assault on a player who was in college last year, transitioned to the pros, and had at least four different QB's his rookie year. He posted almost 1000 yards with 7 drops. And what does the Gripe Group do?

They focus on the drops and not the player and his potential.

I swear this crowd would complain after the Cowboys won the Super Bowl 34-17 because they didn't win by more points.

There are much larger worries than Lamb's drops.

If you are among the Gripe Group complaining about Lamb, and are divorced, I may have insight into why.

I wanted to see a few more beast moments from him.

He'll be a good player no doubt.

For all of you "get rid of Cooper" folks, just keep in mind that Amari kept the #1 CB off of Lamb for 16 games.

Lamb put up great numbers but he was very underwhelming in this physical traits IMO. No blazing speed or broken tackles. Not an elite jump ball receiver aside from the Minn play. Too many easy drops so can’t even say great hands.

An offseason in an NFL weight room hopefully improves all that.

yeah Lamb basically has nothing going for him and that’s why he was the #2 rookie WR in the NFL

There is no get rid of Cooper now but in 2 years lamb will be even better and it will allow us to move on from lamb

You definitely notice the drops in big moments more than the routine ones lol

Not just that, but losing so many OL hurt the WR's hurt our ability to to challenge deep for a good chunk of the year

Instead of 3rd and goal from inside the 5 it was 3rd and goal from the 20
