Dalton is a great backup QB, no need to bash him, saying he’s better than Dak is ridiculous to say the least.

Dalton played against a 5-10 and in fact his past three games were against 4 win teams...

if we played only 4 or 5 win teams, you would be right, Dalton would get similar results to Dak playing against better teams...

and now, having seen first hand, I am not sure he is even the answer to back up QB spot, if all he is able to do is beat 4-11 teams playing their back up QBs....a back up should be capable of keeping the team competitive, against average and good teams...he was never able to do that....

keeping Dalton is a mistake even as a back up....we could at least keep a low round draft developmental player. Dalton is not even developmental and there is no upside.

Say what you want about Dalton, but there are no big games for a 6-9 team. They haven't been doing anything when it counts all year going back to before Prescott was injured. That's why they were 6-9. Dalton is as you described, average at best. Starting on a less than average team. The results should have been predictable.

As it turns out, the game was meaningless. As it should be for a team going into the last week of the season at 6-9. Washington is one of the few exceptions spanning decades.

hmmm, interesting you bring that up...didn't Dalton do the same yesterday....lot of "garbage" time yards....I mean we were down significantly in the game.

and in 2019 Dak did beat two teams with a winning record.....something Dalton didn't come with a continent of being able to do...

Dalton went to 5 consecutive playoff appearances with Bengals.. I don't need to look it up but i'm sure he beat some good teams along the way.

Regardless. He's below average. I hate having to defend him.

Neither guy makes a difference in the big picture.

Maybe we can fix Zeke and the OL so we can start winning games again and quit depending on mediocre QB's.

I am not comparing Dak and Peyton..

someone said a QB is not good because he is 1-2 in the playoffs. so using the same measuring stick....I measured Manning.

now you are complaining....I guess we measure Dak by what ever standards that at the time fit your agenda..... :thumbup:

let me see...take your opinion or 50 FO people and TV analysts who think Dak is a top 10 QB....hmmm, that's a tough decision given your evaluation skills for QBs...I mean you have been dead on, evaluating Watson, Mahomes...so I guess I go with your expert opinion :lmao:

Except Peyton Manning lost a playoff game where his team never punted. The Bengals lost playoff games where their defense was dominant and where they had better skill position players on offense. Honestly the Bengals during his early years were probably the most talented roster in the NFL with the sole exception of the QB position. If they had a real starting QB they would most likely not only have playoff wins, but also quite possibly a Super Bowl title.

there is no denying that He was average and below average when we played average to slightly above average teams.

he was ok, when we played bad teams........his best game was against Philly.
