I've been a Nolan fan throughout his career.

He's gotta go.

There is no way we should be this bad against the run.

To be fair to Nolan, we *should* be bad against the run. Really bad. Our best DT is AWoods. We were on the verge of cutting him before McCoy went down. That's where we were at DT for most of the season, while earlier, we were even worse, playing Poe, who nobody even bothered to pick up when we dropped him. Sad.

And our LBs stink too. Right up the gut, we're just bad.

The horribly blown coverages earlier in the season was the bigger fail, IMO. Purely horrible. A team that didn't know what it was doing. And it wasn't even our rookie having the biggest problems. It was vets of a few years.

Yacht has no cell service after Jerry was swinging off the antenna with JWB in his hand

lmao

I’ve always found it fitting Jerry drinks JWB. JW Green is just as good and less expensive. Blue isn’t good for the hype it gets, just like the Cowboys.

i doubt hes let go, im betting MM will plead for his job and attach guarantees ie put his own job on the line to give it another season with the right horses..Lobby Jonses to get some better scheme fit and talent on defense to do so..

this is far more about lack of talent at DT, DB and bit at LB with injury and age etc with LVE and LEE..

i dont think any coaches are going to be let go, there wil be mulligan but count on this, 5 games into next season if we gave a 1-3 start where this offense is putting up 30 and losing, Nolan will be fired on the spot as he will know the leash is more then short, its choke chain..

you guy can stomp and throw tantrums here on line but my gut says thats the plan..total reboot with new players , same coaches..

cry all you want , it wont change anything..

Why we should we be good against the run? We weren’t before he got here, then had injuries.

Do you even know what defense is?

Give it some more time, dang. Jerry did take a week or more to fire Garrett.

so if they follow the usual pattern. They will evaluate all the players, take a few weeks, go over film, look at contracts, see where each fits into the future.
Then they will look at the coaching staff, decide to make any changes or not.

we will seen some futures / reserves contracts signed from players on the PS or others teams PS. Some low level roster fodder signings as well.
Then they will look at college players and the east west shrine game and senior bowl are played.
Then focus on FA and the NFL combine.

nothing will happen too fast, be patient.
Some of the non-playoff teams got started immediately by parting ways with coaches and GMs. One franchise that did their house cleaning early in the season - Atlanta- interviewed Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy earllet today since KC was in their playoff bye week.

You ever needed to move and had a hard time finding someone with a truck? Your friends all suddenly get busy and have something pop up when you ask them to help move and if they can use your F-150? Probably what's going on here.

How long was it after the end of last year that Garrett was let go? Jerruh and Company have to get back from their Yacht trip before making any decisions.

Jerry needs to go pay for Gus Bradley or Raheem Morris. We need an entire culture change on the defensive side of the ball

Because no offseason to learn the new defense and the players on defense suck. Give him a chance to get decent players

My guess is these are the reasons he will be kept.

Other first-year defensive coordinators had more success despite not having an offseason, but couple that with some of the personnel issues we had and I think Nolan will be given a mulligan. Part of the reason will be because the team doesn't want to install a new scheme for the second year in a row. He's installed his scheme, he'll get some new players and then if he doesn't succeed, he'll be gone.

Firing coaches are one season is a bad way to build continuity. But Nolan's defense was so bad that it definitely wouldn't bother me if they got rid of him and gave someone else a chance.

Didn't one of the clowns in the front office say their exit interviews were starting today? From the last 25 years we know how this goes...all the top coaches and co-ordinators sign quickly, and the Jones' wait until teams have their coaching fire sale and pick the kindling from the houses that had recently burned down...wash, rinse, repeat...wash, rinse, repeat

I mean in Nolans defense some of the things the players were doing out there were just dumb and looked like they never played football in their lives. Couldnt even do the basics right

100 percent not all Nolan's fault. The players we put on the field were sub par and played a roll in this disaster.

But when things are this bad, like historically bad, someone has to answer for it and we know it ain't gonna be the GM and his clown show office, we can't replace the entire roster on that side of the ball, so it falls on the d coordinator.

There are different reasons coaches get let go and succeed in other places. That's why I don't understand the argument some make when coaches and their team are playing horrible and fans in their defense say "well did they all of a sudden forget how to coach?"

Of course they didn't, but what works in one place at a particular time doesn't mean you can just plug and play the same scheme without hiccups. I think we clearly made some adjustments as the season went on that helped but playing really bad teams also factored into us suddenly looking average, or at least creating turnovers.

So yea, we need an infusion of talent asap on the defensive side of the ball, players AND coaches included.

Hes a MM hire and friend. Aslong as MM will be here you can expect Nolan to be here which means we are doomed for a long time. Jerry wont have the guts to fire him after 1 year without a real offseason.

I dont expect him to be fired.

Maybe some sort of BS shuffle like Kiffin did for a while, and Edwards is the DC in title just to make it look like they did something....

Something minimal to appease the fans.

Jerry is the last guy who would pay coaches to sit home.
