2nd. He did not challenge the dropped pass when it was so obvious that it had hit the ground. They scored a field goal after that.

Yeah, There was also a Dez like TD catch for the Giants. But i guess all scoring plays are reviewed and the NFL liked what they saw. I don't think it was catch!

Two situations yesterday prove that the game has passed him by. The first when we sored a touchdown and the score was 20-15. Getting one point is meaningless making it 20-16. Every book says you go for two. McCarthy told Jones he had adopted current use of analytics. Ha, he went for the extra point. He is a knucklehead.

2nd. He did not challenge the dropped pass when it was so obvious that it had hit the ground. They scored a field goal after that.

Lastly, he says that he authorized his special team coach to call a fake punt whenever he feels like it. that again is just plain dumb and it cost us early in the season.

Get him out!!

Of course he's not a good coach. If he was he wouldn't have spent a year in his basement coming up with a sales pitch to get hired by the only GM who interviewed him.

Good coaches don't have to accept working as puppets for Jerry and Stephen. They get jobs where they run the show. Jerry doesn't like those coaches.

MM is a worse game decision maker than JG, and that is hard to do. MM has the lowest IQ of any coach there is, now you know why Jerry hired him. Jerry will keep him for another season or two then boy genius 2 will take over, it's already in the works.. It's a good thing the Cowboys have the best GM in football to guide them, I know it's true because Jerry told us it is.

I was open to the hire when it first happened. His first year has resulted in a lot of skepticism from me. The team was flat unprepared, disorganized, and inconsistent across the board for much of the season. They struggled with simple, basic, fundamental football. All of this points to a lack of effective leadership. Blame JJ all you want-- but he is paying MM to steer the ship, and his navigation and direction this year were highly questionable and dubious at times.

To his credit-- the team played better down the stretch. The last game was a dud as the OP pointed out. I am not a fan of his excuses. I thought he would be more candid and honest as a HC when his team blows it-- but he is defensive and offers up lame-excuses. Not a fan of that at all.

For me, he gets another year to impact the team and turn this roster into a contender, or he needs to go. This team was supposedly in a "win now" state when he came in. A good HC will have this team in the playoffs next year. He has now evaluated the talent, and will have two drafts and two free agency periods to get some of "his guys" in here. No more Covid excuses. No more injury excuses. Fire Nolan. Fix the D. And if he can't get us to the playoffs next year... cut bait and start over.

Pretty much this. Was for MM at first but this year showed me Rodgers may be right about his football IQ. I was against the Nolan hire from the start. Still not a fan of Moore either.

If I was Jerry I would be hard pressed not to fire all three after that game. Give MM one more year, Nolan HAS to be gone, and Moore well just signed an extension...

This was one of the worst head coaching jobs I can remember by a Cowboys head coach. McCarthy’s game management was dreadful and certainly not what you would expect from an experienced HC. This was his third straight losing season dating back to his final two seasons in Green Bay. The Joneses will give him a pass in 2020 due to all the injuries and no offseason but he’ll have to win in 2021 or he’ll likely be done in Dallas. He was brought here to pay immediate dividends so his seat is already getting hot.

During a Packer game a few year ago, the other defense had two penalties on the same play. One was for defensive holding and one was for offsides. Both are five yard penatlies with one making it 1st and ten and one making it 1st and five. McCarthy took the holding penalty before Rodgers corrected him. So yea, MM was not the sharpest guy. I did like McCarthy and do hope he has some success with the CowBoys. He is going to need Zac or even better QB tho. He could not put a winning game plan together in Green Bay without Rodgers.

McCarthy wasn’t a good coach when he got axed in Green Bay and he wasn’t a good coach this past season. We’ve all seen how much better the Packers have gotten since he was fired. It’s what have you done lately in the NFL and he’s not winning. We’re sitting home in a division where it only took 7-9 to win it. That’s embarrassing! We were swept by a 7-9 team that beat us with two different QBs. McCarthy knows that the Cowboys are going to have to at least make the playoffs next year for him to see year three in Dallas. He’ll be given no pass next season.

17-26-1 as a Head Coach in the NFL in his last 44 games.
Regardless of who his QB was or is, covid or not, defense, injuries or calling plays or not.

I mean if win loss record as a Head Coach is important.

But I digress. If the owner/GM suffers from a lack of accountability/responsibility role in the team's lack of success, surely this same disease could not have infected his hand picked Head Coach as well, right?

And most assuredly no responsibility/accountability/blame disease has ever trickled down to the QBs role in losses. Total stand up guy in his role for losses. I mean right?
That's the 3 top chain of command guys who all share no blame in the team's current state. It is ALWAYS something else.

The most unfortunate thing is that the CZ fanbase also suffers from this terminal nonaccountability/responsibility blame disease as well.

I think it is OK to argue MM is not a good coach.
The team went 6-10 and that's his record here and he had a similar record in his last season in GB.
So it's perfectly defensible to say he is a bad coach.

All that said I don't buy that in any way.

I think MM in fact brought a demonstrable different feel to the team than JG ever did.
A sense of importance on certain games JG never displayed.

And I'd definitely give him a mulligan in a COVID season on putting his program/system into place as that was wildly re-done for every team in the league.
And I'd give him a mulligan for the injury situation in Dallas goes beyond to excuse to just common sense understanding.

BUT those mulligans are only good once.
And he has a guy in Dallas looking over his shoulder that the Owner is quite impressed with in Kellen.

He couldn't get it done with maybe the best QB in history, you think he's going to get it done here?

I wanted any number of coaches, most important was finally being rid of Garrett. Don't see McCarthy getting 13 years here.

Ron Rivera won the division with a much inferior team. Their best QB has one leg. McCarthy is an also run. He had his day in the sun. The sun ain't shining on this dog's *** any more. We need a young coach who thinks of this game in a contemporary way. Ole Mike is just a tad too old, a tad too fat and a tad too dumb. He bamboozled Jerry in the interview process. He admitted to that, and now we have just a slightly better version of the Red Clapper. He don't clap much but he also makes really stupid, in game, decisions. Cut him loose and start again.
