Drama on the sideline with players and coaching staff. LOL Doug has created a huge mess.

When Doug Pederson pulled Jalen Hurts for Nate Sudfeld early in the fourth quarter in Sunday’s season finale against Washington, many Eagles players and coaches were shocked and outraged, team sources told The Inquirer. Some were angry. Two defensive players had to be held back from approaching Pederson. Center Jason Kelce and another offensive starter went to the coach to ask him why he had pulled the starting quarterback with the Eagles trailing by only three. Hurts was distraught, as well. Even though he had been told Wednesday that there was a chance Sudfeld could play, he couldn’t understand why Pederson would make the switch, sources close to the situation said. The NBC broadcast caught Hurts on the bench after he was replaced apparently saying, “That’s not right.”
Is it tanking and a kill shot to the integrity of the game when a team rests starters with their playoff spot secured and nothing to gain?
How about not doing everything they could to win the game which is required by the league.

Its nonsense to say the game should be played with one team playing their starters but pulling them out anytime they get close to a lead.
No. That's always been done and to a certain extent accepted.
It's also been fine historically for teams to sit players with any type of injury small or otherwise, as the Eagles did on Sunday.
You're nitpicking here. What rule are they breaking? Bad coaching? Bad timing? Because it is timing that we're talking about. Had they started Sudfeld no one would say anything. Yet the intent and results would be the same. So based on what rule should the Eagles, Steelers, and Chiefs be punished for breaking?
That's the point. They didn't start Sudfeld and there is no rule for the Refs to enforce on subbing in a crappy substitute. But if you do it at the exact point you might win and do it for no good reason, its a matter for the NFL front office.
And honestly, I think the fact the Giants got screwed is the only reason there is a snowball's chance the league will do anything. I doubt anything will happen and it doesn't really bug me, but the league has to have some standards (or at least pretend to). That's why the NBA put in the rules they did.
I think there was a very good reason. Hurts had a 25 QBR and had throw for 72 yards through 3 quarters. Quite often benching the QB will rally the team.
Why not put Wentz in?I think there was a very good reason. Hurts had a 25 QBR and had throw for 72 yards through 3 quarters. Quite often benching the QB will rally the team.

Damn, I'm good!
I don't like what Philly did anymore than any other non Eagles fan. I just don't see what could be done about it. Punish them for subbing out Hurts? What if Sudfeld came back and won? Would they still be punished? Or are we now basing a punishment on the results of the game? You can't use they didn't do everything in their power to win the game excuse. Teams violate that every year without consequence.
I refer you to my example of Dallas putting in Jerry's grandson at QB. There is absolutely no reason to believe Sudfeld is a better player and no reason to sub him in at a critical point.
Its like comparing a superconservative Scott Linehan game plan to punting on first down. They are just different worlds.
I can't imagine anything will come out of this, but I would wet my pants if the NFL moved Philly's pick down because of this nonsense.
Even though I don't think it would be fair to the Eagles.
This issue has been an argument on NY and Philly radio stations for part of the day. Trying to distinguish between purposely losing, and not caring whether you win or lose. There is a difference. Not much of one, but it exists.
