Quinn should be held up as a great example for the Cowboys of how to do business in the NFL. More of that please.

Why do players usually seem to do better AGAINST the Cowboys than WITH the Cowboys?
I think its sometimes mental. Playing for Dallas comes with additional pressure because the team is always in the spotlight regardless of their record. Its very similar to players that play well against the NY Yankees and seem to suck when they play for the Yankees.

Amazing what playing for a contract does for a player.

It is amazing. At times he looks like an unstoppable wild man playing for us.

Money can do that to a player. Look at Le’Veon Bell’s numbers after he got paid.

I thought when we surprisingly got EG in free agency, we'd use him in the same sense where he was most comfortable and effective in the Vikes 4-3 scheme,..
I dunno what the hell we were trying to do with Griffen or Dlaw … seems we had them flip flopping sides every 2-3 snaps, ..had them dropping in coverage, ..had them standing up as 3-4 OLBs,
instead of hands on the ground,.. and both looked confused as when to rush and when to drop in coverage lanes and never seemed comfortable at all.
and seem like everyone on our DL line was having trouble vs run with these gap assignments,.. That's why I cannot wait to get rid of Nolan, Tomsula (and the DB coaches) .
Eh, I’m guessing since there wasn’t any movement on Nolan within 3 days there’s not going to be. Don’t see any reasonable explanation not to have already done so if they we’re going to!

never pay a guy big bucks and change the entirety of the scheme they play in. I don't care about sacks, I want to see the whole picture of his performance (pressures, tackles for loss are just as important as sacks). If I were a HC and signed a smaller guy who played well as a 4-3 end of course I would assume his numbers would go down as a whole in a 3-4. In a 4-3 you may have one of your ends see double teams, in a 3-4 you can expect both ends to see double teams

This happens all the time after a player gets his money. That is why you better be careful giving out big contracts to players who might be susceptible to making business decisions once they get their millions. That means, I wouldn't attempt to sign A. Smith.

If you don't see the difference between contract year Quinn and 30 million guaranteed Quinn then I don't know what to tell you.
Thank God we didn't resign him. I bash Jerry a lot but I give him credit on this one. Letting Quinn walk was a good decision on Jerry's part.

I hear ya - but maybe not necessarily since there also has not been any new HC hiring or new DC hiring announcement going around the NFL ..as of right now.
Maybe that comes next week ? McCarthy was asked about Nolan today per 105.3 the fan, and he was evasive as Jerry was, but said how they are going to have evaluate
his coaching staff and go from there, etc. Didn't sound like a pushing vote of confidence from MM as well as Jerry.

And Note how none of the top name hot DC names are still on the board., but I see your point in what da heck are we waiting for, as we could lose out on those top DCs.

Which BTW, frankly it's been 3 DC choices I've really been pondering as a possibility for Cowboys as new DC:
1 Gus Bradley
2 Dan Quinn
3 George Edwards

All 4-3 scheme guys, all 3 have been top 10 DCs at some point in past 10 years; I could be on board with Edwards if he is allowed to bring in his own staff,
that doesn't include. Who knows if any of them are in interview & negotiations with McCarthy and the Cowboys first. o_O
