different players and schedule but FWIW:
Cowboys defense: passing yards allowed 3642, passing touchdowns allowed 34, interecptions 10
Falcons defense: passing yards allowed 4697, passing touchdowns allowed 34, interecptions 12

I can understand the skepticism, but we don't know that it won't work out. There have been plenty of DCs who were secondary coaches, linebacker coaches, etc., and turned out to be great hires.
And always based on great results do they get hired.

Maybe you just don't like to read, or are too full of your own opinions to research what others here have already done for you.
Atlanta was atrocious in passing defense last year, and JWJ was the passing game coordinator/ secondary coach.

So you actually think that it's not only a good idea to hire this dud, but to also give him a promotion???

It is true, a sucker IS born every day!

Goes to show. No matter how bad it was, it can always get worse.

Also, how hilarious would it be that we had the worst run defense in the league, and now hire the guy in charge of the worst pass defense in the league.

I am prepared to be amazed. Hope you’re right.

Him being stuck on former assistants doesn’t help make this coaching staff better.

On the plus side at least it's the defensive secondary coach and not the special teams coach............... :muttley:

This should be super easy. Marvin Lewis and move on.

We should. I mean Dak brought us back against that ‘elite secondary’ in Atlanta...

Yeah...I don't want anything to do with that Falcons defense.

I like that Whitt is a DB coach, but I don't trust McCarthy being the point man on finding a DC after his first choice...fool me once Jerry.

I hate the approach already. Get out of the comfort zone and go find someone who can do the job. Don't want the Dallas Packers.
If you don’t trust MM, who you going to trust? JJ? I’d rather take my chances with MM at this point.

Jason Garrett took Columbo and Dooley with him, which clearly indicates Jerry let him pick his own staff here as well. He also brought Houck and Linehan here, who he worked with in Miami. The RB coach in NY was at Alabama, meaning a Saban hire, which is obviously a Saban-Miami Dolphins connection with Garrett. Also Judge had some roots in Alabama.

This is why it’s much more excited to just get some up and coming HC, who isn’t afraid of going outside the box. I mean even McVay hired Wade Phillips, but had no problems firing him to bring in a new DC.
This is why I was never really excited for MM.

And again, the main issue here is Moore being extended when MM is supposedly the offensive gurus. It’s like he’s just as much a figurehead here as Garrett eventually became, after play-calling was stripped from him.
