I see that Jamal Adams trade really worked out for Seattle

Maybe I've been a Cowboy fan too long. I think Safety is more important than our FO does, but not quite 1st round important.

As w/ all positions, it depends how good the player is. Earl was easily first round worthy. If you can get a player anywhere near Earl, it is easily first round important.

I wanted Adams more than anyone, but the price was about half of what they actually paid.

They were going for it in a weak NFC and it bit them for now, and probably more so down the road.

That was a very stupid trade.. Everyone knew it.

The Jets are loaded with picks for the future too.

Adams is a strong safety and would’ve been a cap crushing acquisition.

Id rather have Byron Jones in the secondary.

Yeah most of us thought the price was way too steep. We were considering a 2nd the year prior. For a second rounder sure, but geesh Seattle bent over.

Adams is a good player when healthy. And a great safety can improve even a lousy defense. But defenses are still built around the defensive front and if a team is weak there, then they will be a weak defense. On the other hand, a strong front can make a secondary way better. The Eagles, WFT and Giants all got away to a certain extent with bad secondaries because they have strong DLs that can rush the passer.

I think the easiest road to contention starts by building the OL and DL.

just a very very bad trade...now they also gets to make jamal the highest paid safety in football on top of it.

i think it is simple to me...not 100% but close enouh.

do not give up premium assets for a player who does not play a premium position. khalil mack...jalen ramsey...ok!

I guess the Seahawks will have to use the tag on Adams if they can’t sign him long term. He wants $20M/year. He won’t be a happy camper if they tag him. I suspect he will hold out and report day before season starts.

Seattle has 24 UFAs and not a lot of cap room if the cap is around $175M this coming season.

2021 will be Metcalf’s 3rd year. He will want a new deal paying $20M/year in 2022. The owner is rich beyond belief so money is only an issue for the cap. Since their owner is very rich with money to blow, the players will ask for the moon and get it. The team will restructure contracts and kick the can down the road. Eventually it will all fall apart. If Wilson’s play continues to drop, the fall will be much sooner.

Seattle won’t be a player in the FA market this year. Seattle had a bad draft last year and this year they lack a 1st round pick.

All teams have problems but Seattle has a bunch.

Give me Donovan Wilson on a rookie contract and let me keep all my draft picks. Thank you.

the jones really screwed up letting byron jones go. the money that has been wasted on crawford and sean lee would have been better spent on jones. rookies would have played just as well as crawford and lee and for a fraction of what both of those players made.

Only 2 Safeties in the past 2 decades that was worth that trade haul Jets got. Ed Reed and Troy Polamalu. Jets gonna Jet and blow those picks tho
Except Joe Douglass is a actually a good drafting executive, last year was a good draft for them. Becton, Mims, Davis all look good picks. They just need to stay healthy.

Let me add to the list: Jaylon, Amari, and Zeke.

I really do like Amari, just not for 20 mil.
