This is a great article on Markus Paul, the Cowboy's strength and conditioning coach. He was loved by his players and a father figure to many.

‘See you later’: Markus Paul’s lasting legacy among Black strength coaches in the NFL

"Paul was one of only three Black men this season – along with the Indianapolis Colts’ Richard Howell and Cleveland Browns’ Larry Jackson – to hold the title of either head strength coach or director of strength and conditioning for an NFL team. And his absence is acutely felt within the small fraternity of Black strength coaches."

Thanks for posting this. He was everything that was said and more.

He worked as Mike Woicik's right hand man from Syracuse to NE and branched to his own identity in NY literally body building 5 Super Bowl Champion Teams (3 in NE and 2 in NY).

When you lose a great human being like Paul, it takes a while to recover.

Excellent points and info. People of character are rare so it's always sad to see when they die too young.

Nice piece. By all accounts, a very fine man. As much as anything this year, I think the loss Coach Paul was most devastating to the players. The NFL is a tough place to exist with high expectations and pressure to win. Coach Paul surely provided many players with a trusted outlet to share their innermost thoughts. RIP, Coach Paul.

Just imagine...probably most of the team was there when he checked out. That had to have an effect on the team, it had too. That was their coach...what a damn shame to go so early. He must have worked himself to hard to help the team. That's all I got...

He's in a better place now...where ever that might be.
