I never seen a such a double-standard for a player like Dak vs garbage time Watson.

Dak never had a season below .500 season, #1 WR like Hopkins for entire rookie contract & a top 15 defense. Keep betting on the wrong horse, he’s going to prove everyone wrong next season.

Exactly. Dak is a better QB. No question about it.

Dak's career record as the starting QB for Dallas is 42-27.......a winning percentage of 60.9%.....which on the surface looks great until you remove his 13-3 rookie season......then Dak's career record is 29-24....a winning percentage of 54.7%........so he has been barely above average as the Dallas Cowboys starting QB in the last 3-1/2 seasons.....not exactly something to be bragging about.

Why would you remove a season, though?

Aikman with no stacked defense after 1995 = does nothing. But Dak haters give him a pass and ignore his career 141 int's to 165 td's because his stacked teams won SB's. Dak has to carry the entire team and win a SB by himself.
When Dak and his agent demand elite QB money like Aaron Rodgers, etc... make, then Dak should possess the ability to " carry the entire team and win a SB by himself". Dak doesn't, If he did, Jerry would of signed him already.

Houston made a bad decision signing Watson to a huge contract, and they are now trying to trade him. They know that can't rebuild the team with his 37+M cap hits. We need to make the same mistake to appease your pet cat?
fwiw
His average cap hit going forward for the next 5 years averages 33mil / year.....which is a relative bargain

This is funny because you are 100% correct. Dak has been compared to Mahomes, Rodgers, Brady, Brees. People even say he is better than Aikman. Dak chokes so bad in big games he would xcrap his pants if he had to play in a NFC championship game while the above guys have proven they can perform at the highest level.
speaking of crapping in his pants, just saying.

DeShaun isn't dumb enough to take on defenders like he is a running back. I knew Dak's injury was gonna happen one day, dude stiff arms instead of slides. In a twisted way, the severity of his injury may be good for his career in that he will now run with the "daintiness" a qb needs to run with.
I understand the need for a QB to be careful, but I can't imagine being too critical of him for being determined to get a first down. If he has the chance he does slide when he has the first down or when a first down isn't critical or possible, but he does run hard and take on defenders when he feels it is important. If you change his attitude about that it might change the attitude that helps him make plays. He doesn't have the raw physical talent of Mahomes (who does?), so he has to use what works for him.

He didn’t finish this season either

Like I said previously. In 20 years when you're looking at Prescott's career stats on Pro Football Reference it will show Prescott was 2-3 for the season. That is his 2020 season. He will be sub .500.

The asterisk will be he was injured. But it won't change the fact.

Dak has been in the league for what is now 5 seasons.

His first three seasons, his record is a combined 31-18 or a winning percentage of 63.26%.

In his last two seasons, he is 10-11 or a winning percentage of 47.61%.

This is where Dak is currently at. Strong with talent around him, in terms of win/loss, fairly average with less talent around him, in terms of win/loss. This is not unusual, most QBs deal with the same types of situations when they are not playing with good talent around them. It's not an individual game and 500 yard passing games just as easily translate into Ls as they do Ws. The formula for winning with Dak is not throwing for 500 yards, it's balance. You just have to look at his games to figure that out.

But hey, if our own team can't figure this out, then there is no reason to expect our fanbase to.

its about when....what do you think Rodgers would demand today? not what he got years ago.....the timeline matters...

and did Rodgers win a superbowl all by him lonesome self? did Mahomes? seriously dude....

I guess circumstances don't matter. playing 2019 with a lame duck coaching staff. a first year OC with all of 1 year coaching experience. a head coach directly responsible for 3 losses because of bad game management.

and seemingly you are putting wins and losses clearly on one side of the team and only on one player....

the formula for winning is balance...balance on offense and defense....not a defense that gives up 300,200, 200, 150 yards of rushing in 4 games. and 36 points.....historically bad. all time historically bad.

Dak has the highest number of come back wins in the NFL in his first 4 years....tell me about choking again?

they are not trying to trade him. Watson objected to the hiring of the GM and wants to be traded.

lets just remove anything that's inconvenient to your agenda....I am sure you can go in and find a few more reason to reduce that 29-24 record to 12-24....so spin away

Agreed.

Dak is better at football than me and you.

But my point was that is just like any other average QB in the NFL.

By average QB i mean the Cousins and Tannehills of the world.

His supporters would have you believe that Dak is better than Rodgers and Brady
Dak is a top 10 QB in the league....but go ahead spin away and make up stuff.

People keep acting as if talent isnt a thing.

Some QBs have cannons for an arm.

Some are faster than most WRS.

Some have the brain of a nerd.

Tell me one thing Dak has.

Only one..

Dak is just a guy..

Nothing special about him.. Nothing.

Guys like Mahomes. Rodgers and Watson have that special gene in them. Even guys like Herbert and a couple other young QBs have it too.

Dak doesn't have it. I don't care how many stats you try and show us

At the end of the day, Dak will go down in history as just another guy.

But if you think he's better than eveey other QB in the league, keep living the dream .
how does Watson have special genes? what has he done to garner that....Rodgers, Mahomes I agree with....but watson!!! seriously....

and lets put the annointing oil away for a couple of years, and see how Herbert does over a 3 year span....Dak had a 13-3 season to start his career.......but now you want to put him in the dumpster.

He's got one more year of "bargain" and then his cap hit jumps to 40M in 2022 and 42M in 2023. Houston is a smart team and realize they won't be able to trade him without that one bargain year.

I know its a thrill to correct people, but your rebuttal can't also be misleading.
