Just don't understand the long-term thinking here, but you knew this was what Jerry would do. McCarthy has had little say here. We should be trying to build a Championship quality DEF not a reload or return to something that was average in the past

Only in the sense that they're both 4-3 defenses.

Marinelli liked cover two and a 4-3 over front with the Sam on the strong side.

Quinn used to 43 under with the Sam on the weak side and more as an extra Blitzer. He would play with multiple linemen over the offensive lineman particularly the weak side defense end played straight up over the tackle. He also used 3-4 and 2-4 looks like we saw from Nolan.

Quinn also actively disguised coverages starting out from cover two looks and then dropping a safety into the box and vice versa.

Further Quinn likes larger defensive lineman. His nose or one technique was always 310 lb or more and as I said before the defensive ends were larger able to use two Gap and one Gap techniques.

WOW this is really a smart move....I guess Whitt Jr comes w/deal ....That defense Quinn put together in Seattle 2013 that won Super Bowl was a lot of fun to watch. It look like Quinn had 13 players out there playing against 11 lol..... They would just smother offenses.

We immediately hire this loser who made the Falcons a running meme who was JUST fired. We go after losers who were fired instead of trying to pluck up and comers who want to make a step up. Jerry loves these hires. The good ol boy network is great for NFL coaches because they can suck for years and easily land a job.

The 4-3 defense that Quinn uses is a hybrid front. The under look has the weak side looking like a 3-4 with the defensive end over the tackle and the outside linebacker in a nine-technique.

you should spend more time trying to learn about football and what you're watching as opposed to come up with these jokes and awful attempts at satire.

I don’t even know why I have faith in this organization anymore. I need to let go of this team for a while. This is ridiculous. How dumb can you be to hire someone who’s consistently had defenses ranked 20 and over? Retread after retread. Fail after fail. Regardless if we sign dak, pick up a FA, get a new O-line, whatever. We will constantly fail because of this defense.
