You work in the Cowboys FO? Wow, impressive.

Where there is the Rooney rule and the Cowboys only interviewed a couple of people and one fills the Rooney rule does someone really have to work for the Cowboys to see they were complying with the Rooney rule?

Quinn's been unemployed since October and the Cowboys knew they were going to fire Nolan as soon as the season was over since November. They've known who they wanted filling that DC role since then. It's not hard to figure out... well maybe it is for you, Rocky.

I don't think Jerry had to do any selling of this hire to MM. He just sent him a text message that Dan Quinn was the guy he was hiring.
Dallas doesn't work that way.
If it did Dallas would fired Nolan last year in season about week 10.
But those hate texts did get through and Nolan scrapped his defense

Dallas has a 4 man mgmt circle:
Jerry (Wildcatter deluxe and every move is for SB)
Stephen (milquetoast and every move is what does it COST and why didnt we get that at Costco???)
Will McClay (glue guy and let's meet in middle here)
MM (old, football guy and that's not how Joe Montana did it)

Jerry used to run roughshod over people but that's no longer the case.
Will and Stephen famously denied him Johnny Manziel in favor of Zack Martin.
And many of the moves that get made happen without an ounce of Jerry involvement.
Stephen has nearly carte blanche over contracts. Reality is it is his money now. Jerry's money is a lot longer than his life expectancy.

What are you talking about my man?
Dallas interviewed 4 candidates. 3 were black.

Last head coaching search they interviewed Marvin Lewis and Kris Richard.
The de facto GM is black.
Dallas has a lot of issues but they aren't lily white in the org and don't need to scrape by to barely meet the Rooney rule.
It will be interesting to see if/when they hire a black head coach but they've had a bevy of assistant coaches including the DC Richard as recently as last year who were black.

Didn’t they interview 3 black coaches for the job?
