I don’t know if he’ll take the job and I hate the Eagles as much as anyone and despise their fans but the city is actually really nice so Im not sure why people have to knock a city and surrounding area just because they hate the football team.
it’s not a terrible job tho....nfc east which can mean quick success, has wentz who may be fixable has hurts who he’s familiar with and he has a top draft, a good gm and a good owner.
not terrible tbh. Not sure if it’s enough to lure him from his great job now but it’s not a “dumpster fire” like I see here. It’s not Detroit, it’s not the jets.
Your success is tied to Wentz and you dont get the opportunity to have your guy in at QB. Eagles have some nice pieces, but management chose Wentz over Pederson and the new coach is expected to start Wentz. Thats enough reason alone to turn down the job imo
totally disagree. Wentz can be saved imo, he’s shown flashes. He didn’t like pederson and pederson didn’t like him. Wentz biggest issue is his health. If he was on the trade market New England, Indianapolis, Chicago, there be suitors for him for sure. He’s got talent.
Can he be consistent and or healthy? TBD.
also not sure his success is 100% tied to wentz...maybe for for next year but then the contract is moveable and he would go to Philly with the understanding that he’d be able to build there. They can be drafting high again in a year if wentz doesn’t work out and he also has hurts to see what he’s got as well.
The nfc east is winnable at. 8,9 wins. It’s not a juggernaut- hell 7 did it this year. Wouldn’t say his success is 100% tied to wentz beyond next season and if he had a bad year he’s not gonna be on the hot seat. He gets a 3 year cushion if he leaves and agrees there
I bet Riley has to bathe after the phone call. I get the feeling that any and everything pertaining to the Eagles is dirty. Just looking at those no class fans makes me want to take a shower.https://sports.yahoo.com/report-eagles-already-reached-lincoln-142317766.html

Eagles reportedly already reached out to Lincoln Riley about job opening originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia
The Eagles fired Doug Pederson on Monday and didn’t waste any time working to find his replacement.
Howie Roseman shortly after Pederson was fired reached out to Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley to gauge his potential interest, according to SI.com’s Ed Kracz.
“It isn’t the first time the Eagles have talked to Riley about his potential interest in the Eagles,” Kracz writes. “In fact, he and general manager Howie Roseman have a good relationship and it was a consult with Riley that helped sway the Eagles to draft both Jalen Reagor and Jalen Hurts, per sources.”
Aside from a relationship with the general manager, Riley also obviously has a good relationship with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who started the final four games for the Eagles in 2020.
Riley, 37, is clearly one of the top candidates for this job but it’s unclear what it would take to pry him away from a good situation at Oklahoma. It would certainly start with a Brinks truck.
Riley has been the head coach at OU since 2017 and was their OC and QBs coach before that. Since taking over for Bob Stoops in 2017, Riley has a 45-8 record and it’s impossible to overlook the success he’s had with quarterbacks during his time as head coach.
He’s gone from Baker Mayfield to Kyler Murray to Hurts to Spencer Rattler and they’ve all had monster seasons. Mayfield and Murray won Heisman Trophies on their way to being No. 1 picks and he helped transform Hurts into a second-round pick after his one season in Norman.
Hurts played just one season for Riley in 2019 but was the Heisman Trophy runner up that season. In 2019, Hurts completed nearly 70% of his passes for 3,851 yards with 32 touchdowns and 8 interceptions and also rushed for 1,298 yards and another 20 scores. It was a tremendous year.
Of course, the Hurts connection is one of the main reasons to watch here. The Eagles’ head coaching position isn’t at the top of the list when it comes to the most attractive vacancies but the opportunity to come to the NFL and coach Hurts again might be very attractive to Riley.
Jeff Lurie tried to sell the Eagles’ vacancy as an attractive one, but I’m not buying it. It’s clearly toward the bottom of the seven openings in terms of appeal, so it’s fair to wonder if this is the opportunity that would have Riley make the jump to the NFL.
Riley is +475 to be the Eagles’ next head coach, according to PointsBet.
Certainly possible, but as a top college coach heading to the NFL, I'd want a better opportunity personally. While Wentz has shown flashes, he doesnt want to earn the job back he wants it handed to him. Not necessarily a good situation for the next coach to jump into unless they believe they can fix Wentz.
And this **** show is?Not as good a job as the OU one.
Where'd you get that? I never said anything about this job. But OU or any top college job is probably as good or better than this one also. And this **** show is?
Which is why people shouldn't complain when Jerry doesn't spend big on UFAs. It never works.
Sure, if you ignore the good signings/trades.There is dumpster diving and going all in on free agency. Neither extreme works. The problem with Jerry's approach these days is that we are trying to fish for deals and his pool is entirely players who are on their last legs or in Dontari Poe's case, no legs.
Sure, if you ignore the good signings/trades.
Quinn, Bennett, Smith, Griffen in the span of 2 years. Every team signs cheap guys and hopes they work out lol. You're expecting a standard that no team can possibly meet, because no team can consistently sign free agents that work without paying big money for them.Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn. We aren't talking about luck, we are talking about consistency. Consistently signing free agents that augment and enhance your team. One Robert Quinn for one season doesn't do away with Dontari Poe, Clinton Dix and McCoy. It isn't going to do away with repeatedly ignoring glaring holes on the defense. This team's had a soft run defense since 2018 when the Rams rammed the ball down their throats in the playoffs and nothing has been done to address it.
Wentz has just always been pretty bad at throwing the ball down field so it limits what his offenses can do. With the OL they had this year they should have shut him down midway through the year instead of the last 5 games.totally disagree. Wentz can be saved imo, he’s shown flashes. He didn’t like pederson and pederson didn’t like him. Wentz biggest issue is his health. If he was on the trade market New England, Indianapolis, Chicago, there be suitors for him for sure.
