Well I'm not sure I like that very much, I could be wrong, but I just don't get hiring guys who led terrible defenses and secondaries, to come fix your terrible defense and secondary. Hmmmm:huh:
.........this is the best statement I have heard since all these hirings began

Gotta give these guys a chance. At least they are familiar with each other and Quinn knows how to reach the players.
My thoughts as well. Whitt did well in Cleveland with that secondary so we’ll see. As long as they draft mostly defense then good to go

I don't know how this will work out in the end, what I do know is this is the coaches pick, not Jerry. Whitt history with both McCarthy and Quinn is why he was hired. For years people have said Jerry should not be hiring the assistant coaches, that should be the HC. Well this looks like a HC and DC call to me. You hire a HC you allow him to put his people in place.

You confuse speculation with reports.

Words have meaning. The world is a less confusing place when you attend to what words mean.

AGAIN when a sportswriter or insider uses "a source" that is their cover to speculate on what they think will happen. When a sportswriter or insider says they spoke to and then use a name and then say that person said this or that, that is not speculating, that's quoting.a real source. People confuse reporting when it's speculation. Now sometimes they do come true, but there have been more than enough times when they haven't been true and this is why I don't believe anything until it is officially announced or has a direct quote from someone who is directly involved in whatever is being reported on.

It is about hiring people you can trust to run the different aspects of your team. Jimmy Johnson brought damn near the entire Hurrican coaching staff with him when he was hired as HC. You want people you know and trust. That happens in most aspects of life

This is not true. When a reporter uses a source, it can be someone who has direct knowledge of what is going on but does not want his or her name revealed for some reason.

I do not generally allow unnamed sources to be used at my paper, but there are occasions when you have someone who you know to be reliable, you go with it if you can't get them or anyone else to go on record. We used to have a couple of sources who told us things but did not want their names revealed because of the position they held.

That doesn't mean that Pelissero's source is legitimate, but just because he's using one also doesn't mean the information is illegitimate. I do not know much about this sports reporter, so I can't say whether he just throws things at a wall and claims that he got it from a source.

So— we hired the “mastermind” behind Atlanta’s worst rated pass D?! Awesome. We couldn’t stop the run in 2020– now we won’t be able to break up a pass in 2021 lol

Does anyone that works for the Cowboys EVER have to actually earn anything?! This team is an absolute clown show— fitting as we have a PT Barnum type owner selling this product off as if it were an actual competent football operation...

I can already see the smoke from the train wreck next year smdh
What if they draft Surtain at 10 and Moehrig at 44?

While I think the coaching moves on defense is somewhat of an upgrade, it won't mean much if all they have to coach are the stuffs they had on the field last year.

Vince Lombardi, Tom Landry nor Bill Belichek can do anything with Xavier Woods on the back end or Jaylon Smith at LB. We need more talent

Hey man, as long as everybody is comfortable with whomever their working with so we won't be hearing any excuses. Woodson gave his approval on Whitt, so cool...now go draft all defense.

I've talked to a guy who was a reporter for the local paper for about 16 years and he has said that when someone says this is off the record his standard reply was I'm a reporter. Sometimes they didn't continue but sometimes they did. He said the ones that continued told him that whatever it was will be made public anyways so they did it. He also said that his editor would not use something that can't be verified so using "a source" was not an option.
