A few things to note here on this.

1) It's been reported that the front office is scrambling after Lurie fired Pederson. They had no real plans to change coaches so now they are in catch up mode and basically throwing out requests for interviews like a kid throws spaghetti on the wall hoping one sticks. It's been haphazard.

2) One beat guy says the defensive guys they want to talk to are likely not to get the job as Lurie is enamored with offense (his last three hires have all been considered offensive minded guys). However, they could be looking at potential DCs as we have found out that the Lurie and Roseman seem to have a Jerry Jones like fetish to hire some assistants for the HC.

3) The Eagles are notorious for making claims on guys that play for teams on their immediate schedule. It would not be surprising at all for them to want to talk to Moore and hope a side benefit would be to glean some info from him.

Good points.

I gotta say. The eagles current situation has to make them a less attractive destination than some of the other openings as well.

their roster is old. Their cap situation is horrible. And they have a QB controversy on their hands.

If I was a Head coach. I would be much more attracted to the Jags, Jets or Chargers jobs.

I think the only situation worse than theirs is the Texans, as far as teams hiring HC’s

It doesn’t mean somebody passes up a head coach opportunity. But if I am a coach who has multiple offers available to them...... I don’t pick the eagles over the others.

Smart move by the Eagles. They putting this story out there so Jerry would think Moore is valuable. Jerry will now hold in to Moore, for the next three years, assuring Dallas an 8-8 record over that span.

Genius!
Can’t finish the season 8-8 ever again, it’s mathematically impossible with the additional game(s) on the schedule. So that stupid narrative is dead and gone.

I think that's why a Kellen type hire would work. For anyone to take that job its going to have to be someone's first time head coaching. Someone young. I just couldn't see a Marvin Lewis or someone taking that job. That might be their last time getting a head coaching gig taking on that poor team.

Jerry seldom blocks his coaches from interviewing HC positions because he is all for people getting the opportunity to move up. He wants people to better themselves . Say what you want about him but that is a good quality that he has. Plus it fills his ego a little bit that the assistance coaches on his staff are getting interviews for HC.

I believe he has the right to refuse for any player under contract. I don't think he will unless Moore asks him to do that. Then again, Booger might ask him to get some inside skinny from Roseman and Lurie.

I don't think the Eagles job is right for Moore.

Hands off Philly!!!!

Honestly, that would be a terrible position to take especially for your first head coaching gig.

The Eagles need a Parcells type guy (anybody like that even exist these days?) to come in and clean up that team/roster.

I would. With Dak at the helm, he's had the best offense in the entire NFL the last 2 years.
I have to give you credit for that post, Rocky. Dak seems to like KM at the OC position and we don't want anything to rock the boat on this offense that clearly works as long as we have Dak at QB. Just fix the O-Line, sign Dak and we should be a top tier offense.

yes he does..:) it's more of a curtesy. No worries. Boy wonder is not crazy enough to take that mess on.
he can't block an interview for a promotion/HC position. you never could.

as of last offseason, now you can't block interviews for position coaches if it is deemed a promotion and not just a title.

I can't even imagine Moore with Wentz. It would be historic excellence.

Smart for Philadelphia to understand the Cowboys offense better and to pick his brain. I don’t see him taking the interview because he is not ready to be a head coach and is unlikely to be hired. You know what would be funny. Jerrah fires MM and decides to make Kellen the head coach because the Eagles offer Kellen the job. Those sneaky Eagles.
