They have MM and now Quinn. retread you say? Fair, but these guy could be pretty good together with the right assistance.

Not going to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear in one year. Dallas has a solid draft position but, just maybe, could the offense send a player to help out the "D"?

Just a question. No hostile responses required.:laugh: Just people talk.

Ha! I would love a legion of pretty good....me personally I think we need to upgrade xavier woods first...donovan wilson showed some potential but woods not so much.

Only chance is the draft and even then this team likes to ignore the safety spot till day 3 since 2013.

Our track record of finding a decent secondary member in FA has been dismal since Gerald Sensabaugh or Brandon Carr if you're ok with an overpaid corner.

Need to get a reliable guy opposite of Diggs and then a rangy FS. Good luck with this FO

They started to play better on the back half of the schedule, I think they lead the league in turnovers (or were close to it) in the last 6 games or so. Hopefully that trend continues but we need like 5 or 6 new starters and move Jaylon to OLB.

Not the legion of Boom but the legion of pretty good? Ok.

We start be hitting the reset button. D.Wilson, D.Law, and Diggs are the only true keepers. Everybody else are backups. So the coaches and scheme dont matter if you are fielding a bunch of backups. You will suck!

Pay Marcus Maye, draft a corner i. Round TWO or 3 and fix the dline. Its really an easy fix but dallas and fans are stuck on surtain and farley dont get it. Then theyll be mad at the secondary looking bad

I agree about the 3 you mentioned but unsure about the rest. We do not lack antheltes we lack intelligence at times. As Jesse Holly was saying, it does not matter how fast you are, how high you can jump or how strong you are, it you are over running the plays or going the wrong direction or busting your assignment then all those assets are meaningless and you are not helping the team. Quinn job will be to get some of these guys focused and have full understanding of his scheme and their role within the scheme. This is not to say we do not need to look to upgrade because we do but I don't know if every player out side the 3 you mentioned are lost causes.

I like the hire of Quinn the more I think about it. But what choice do we have also. I will not get hyped up about it. However, I will get hyped if we have a draft on defense like we did overall last year. About the team going forward as a whole.
But still will not go into TC hyped up. Need to see it on the field.

However, get a few FA's, which I am not expecting much, but a good draft on defense. I will go into the season thinking we will at least be more competitive and battling for the division lead with actual winning records, though slightly above .500, and not at .250.

I'll settle for...

"The legion of being decent enough to compete in today's NFL when your offense already is"

OR...

"The legion of no longer avoiding DT and S in the draft"

The back half of the schedule also included 3 games against backup quarterbacks....

umm the league played those teams also with backup qbs and um we used 4 qbs meaning defenses got fat on our backups all playing..it evens out in the end and doesnt warrant pointing it out..

Washington and cleveland got into the playoffs because teams sat starters and played backups..meh

RBs also fumbles the ball quite a lot are actually considered TOs not on the QB..

Ill take LOA-legion of average

meaning get above 16th total defense continue to be aggressive with sacks and Tos and with our offense that a recipe for success.. we dont need the Boom we need to get out of the cellar..

The legion of pretty good is really an attainable goal
If we can just have an avg defense we can be a pretty good team
To me the key is adding 3 really good players in draft and another solid role player or two

Pretty simple

when drafting or signing players you want to keep in mind to ONLY take players who are:

1. intelligent
2. Love football (lunch pail guys)
3. Put scheme and team above individual stats

THEN

CUT Jaylon smith
CUT Tyrone Crawford
Retire Lee

Sign/draft:

1 starter at 1 DT
1 starter at 3T DT
1 starter at MLB
1 starter at FS

these need to be starting caliber players not has-beens from the trash heap

also need

sign Brown
sign one of Chido or Lewis (I’d prefer Chido )
sign/draft one other really good LB
