My favorite Dallas Qb of all time. Loved me some Romo! Football is entertainment and Romo was the most spectacular of entertainers. TO was a beast with Romo.

People liked TO for the splash plays. Well, Harper gave us those too including probably the 2nd greatest catch in Cowboys history on the slant and run in the '93 NFC Championship Game (2nd to the original Hail Mary IMO). My overall point was that those were the better times because they led to the hoisting of back to back hardware. Entertainment AND results. We've only been entertained since. I'm alright with that but I don't consider just the entertainment "better times" than any other since the 90's.

I can 100 percent agree that the early 1990s were much better times. I was very entertained by Romo's play and I think a lot more of him as a quarterback than many on here, but his years here cannot be considered better times than now even because of the lack of team success.

If we end up winning a Super Bowl with Prescott as quarterback, I will also consider that better times even though I enjoyed Romo more. Team success comes first.

Romo had injuries but my point wasn't that he was fragile. My point was he was so fragile at the end of his career that Jerry had no choice but to give the team to Dak.
Um...I don't think that was the reason. It's my belief that there was ..."superstition" involved. I recall many comments here and from the Cowboys they were on a good streak....why mess with it.

My main point is that Romo always PLAYED hurt, or came back too early. You don't play your best that way. When he finally had a chance to fully heal, thanks to Dak's great play.....he marched the team directly down the field like a machine. I believe he should have come back before that....but at that point...why not keep him in? Superstition.

Yea, no. Look at that ball placement. Something Dallas' current QB just cannot do. Dez is a good enough example of this, as he was awesome under one QB and useless under the other.

You are right. And thats a critique i have for Dak since he arrived here and even when he played in college.

Still TO made Romo better and not vice versa.

Between the two of you, guess which one PM'd me an apology for getting drunk and taking the insult train off the tracks?
Not sure who you are talking about.

I don't believe it's me that owes an apology. You made a sweeping assuming judgement of my character. Based off a disagreement on the internet? Umm...well okay then.

I'm talking about you. It's sad you don't remember. I still have the PM. You went off the deep end over a silly debate. Then, sent an apology. Your emotional responses seem to pop up from time to time.

I also agree...there's something about Dak and where he puts the ball. This is where I disagree with people that condemn the "eye test", and resort to pure test or "catchable" phrase. When you watch this video...the ball is place in the ideal place to maximize the route. It's very noticeable...to me anyway.

I looked it up and yes..I remember. I got benched for it so yes...that was out of line. I stand by my apology for that.

I stand by my opinion this this place...isn't really a place to judge a person's character. "rotten human being". You've "seen" a very minute facet of me yet make that kind of judgement? Um...well okay then.

Romo was the perfect American "dream" story, from undrafted free agent to very good starting QB of the Dallas Cowboys. He as everything Garrett and the leadership of the organization was not in terms of living up to a meritocracy. His only failure was not being able to win a SB and for that I blame the management idiocy of the Cowboys organization starting at the top more than anything he lacked as a quality player.

100%. They could never build a well balanced team at all 3 phases. The defense was never bone chilling. Special Teams was hit or miss and the O line wasn't consistent enough to protect Romo from getting his *** kicked. Kind of like now, they had 4 years with a great 2016 class and they failed. The difference is Romo was the ultimate underdog story. The dude was Houdini until his body broke down.

I remember Jerry foolishly purchased NFC Title game tickets for all the players and coughlin got word of it the morning of the game.

2007 stings as much as 2016.

But this topic is about Romo to Owens. Owens getting the amount of separation he did at 35 is amazing

So many resources have gone to Dak to give him weapons now the other parts of the offense are falling apart and the d still needs help.

Now Dak wants more than the cowboys offered, lets not act like Dak isn't playing his role in screwing over the long term success of his team.
Let's not act like it's Dak's job to manage the teams cap resources.

No one is...but every player has to understand cap situations for each team. You want the most you can get, go to a desperate team that doesn't care about winning long term, we've seen this mistake by teams all the time.

Nope...I read what people write. I do not try to psychoanalyze their personality based on a couple internet posts.

You CLEARLY said "rotten human being".

What is there to be confused about?
I said “rotten human being”.
