The reality of now is to sign Dak Prescott to a long term deal. Dak Prescott last victory in 2020 was against the New York Giants. Before the breaking of his ankle, He led the Cowboys to a 24-20 halftime lead drove down the field in the 3rd quarter after a Giants field goal on the way to an eventual TD by Elliott taking a 31-23 lead. With Dak playing a full game, this was going to the direction of a blow out.

All the Arlington Jonesboys fans must understand that Andy Dalton could not beat the same NY Giants in week 15 (cowboy season) losing 23-19. Therefore Dak Prescott was, is, and will be the best franchise QB option for the Cowboys to win. Prior to the injury Dak Prescott has never been on a team with a losing record since become a starting QB in Jr. High School. Growing up a Cowboys fan when the Dynasty of the 90's was long gone, Dak Prescott dreamed of leading the Dallas Cowboys to a Super Bowl. His first year in the NFL he was one Aaron Rodgers pass from going to the NFC Championship game. In 2018 he sent Russell Wilson's Seahawks home. 2019 he put the Cowboys in position to win another trip to the playoffs with a hurt shoulder but was let down by coaching to not have his best WR weapon on the field but looking on the sideline. This year, he had a Head coach that was in his Green Bay basement in 2019 hire a defensive idiot implement a new defense during a pandemic without off season mini camps or training camp that became the worst defense in Cowboys history (Dallas started out as an expansion team). Wrong personnel for the wrong defense with the wrong defensive coordinator. This lead to the reality of a 6-10 season.

Signing Dak Prescott long term will allow the Cowboys to focus draft capital and free agency assets on defense where it should have been during the lost years of Dak Prescott rookie contract. But, the Arlington Jonesboys fans have Jerry Dumbo GM Jones. Most of the defensive talent on that Cowboys 2016 team have gone on to Conference Championship games and Super Bowls on other teams.

The Cowboys now have the 10th overall pick in a draft that has to be evaluated under a medical pandemic with college teams playing 6-7 games this season or without players declaring for the draft that were not on the football field in 2020. Why make things more difficult letting go your proven young franchise QB? With the upcoming NFL free agency, you should hedge your bets and risk it all by signing young players with NFL experience and trade for young players with NFL experience. They should be on defense and not a franchise QB or as some Arlington Jonesboys fans say a RB even though the injured Ezekiel Elliott had 979 yds rushing, 6TDs with 52 receptions 338 yds and 2 TDs. Remember he had COVID 19 to start the season.

Jerry Dumbo GM Jones must do what he has not done in +25 years...make smart football moves to build a Super Bowl team instead of building a country club for fans to attend to see its members.

This is the reality of now.

Sign Dak. Rebuild defense. Guarantee a playoff or better. And I'm not talking about shopping at the Dollar Store for Defensive free agents like Jerry has been doing! Take the best defensive player on the board regardless of position. First 4 rounds before even half way thinking offense. Even though that tight end sounds intriguing. No Jerry! No!!!

The Jonesboys couldn't put together a championship team when Dak cost $600,000. I find it hard to believe they can pull it off with him making $35 million.

He was a young QB gaining experience under his rookie contract. Until the Joneses put together a good defense with some talented players the Cowboys aren’t winning anything.

Yeah, but he lost to the winless jets, and he was quarterbacking, what many believed had the best roster in football at the time.
I just can't get over that, like I can't get over the cowboys losing to the ravens, to close out the era of Texas Stadium.

He was punished that day like no other. Greg Williams made it his mantra that day. But he kept getting back up.

He lost to the Jets because our defense sucked! Sam Darnold who’s been a bust for the Jets had a career day against us. He completed a 90+ yard TD against us. Our defense allowed that scrub to complete over 70% of this passes for 336 yards and two TDs.

The pets won 24-22.
He couldn't lead the offense to 25?
Doesn't look like the defense was mostly at fault.

We were down 24-7 and would have been blown out with a lesser QB. We lost Amari on the first series of the game and Gallup didn’t step up. He had at least two drops. If you don’t think it was mostly our defense that cost us that game then you’re either a Dak hater or you didn’t watch the game. Our defense was horrible!

'The Reality of Now': an impasse which is accumulating CZ articles every other day and has generated hundred of thousands of responses, on all angles, levels, and directions.
The debate will grow in volume, size, and intensity, and frequency as the off-season begins.

I can't wait for Prescott to sign a deal or be gone.

Just make it stop.

This is just one of the plays you might have forgotten from the Jets game. Sam Darnold dismantled our defense. Maybe some of you would rather have Darnold than Dak. You can almost bet he’ll be available. Lol If he could’ve played the Cowboys defense every week he would’ve won MVP.

To add insult to injury Sam Darnold had been away from his team for three weeks entering that game battling mono. Our defense is notorious for making trash QBs look great. Our D made Mitch Trubisky look like an MVP candidate later that season.

Why couldn't they score 25?
Doesn't seem like a lot to ask from someone demanding $40+million per year.

Dak has done nothing to demonstrate he would have continued on the path to blow out the Giants. In reality he’s shown that he’d not deliver in the fourth.

And that isn’t even a basis to argue Dak should be extended, because Andy Dalton win that game and Jason Garrett and Columbo were in complete control at that point in time, meaning they were actually worse than when Andy Dalton played them later in the season with a more garbage OL and no Zach Martin. Plus, it was actually Zeke that dominant drive in the second quarter that burned over 6 minutes off the clock that gave Dallas their first TD and when Dak was injured it was Zeke and Pollard that dominated the drive for Zeke to score on a 12 yard TD.
