Was Brady going to play defense?

Bucs defense isn’t very good..

We should’ve signed Brady for 2 years this off-season.. Was perfect timing to do so.

But..

We’re too conservative.. Too safe..

We would rather sit back and watch some other team take advantage.

Why in the world would Brady sign up for Jerry's circus? This fantasy keeps coming up as if it almost happened. :muttley:

no . he is not better than ever. dak is dak . a mediocre lucky QB who cannot take it to the next level. but the politics is controlling this. If the cowboys singed Brady for 26 million we would be in the NFC championship game and no dak drama and 40 million BS. but the PR machine is in full force.

There's not a chance the Cowboys would be playing in the NFC championship game, even with him. People act like Brady was winning Super Bowls behind bad lines and with a garbage defense, both of which Dallas had this season.

no he will not . that is why you need an elite QB to compensate the front office mess . Getting away from the comparison between a 26 mil brady and a 31- 40 mil dak is not convenient for many . Brady still has it for at least 2-3 years . in the meantime we are betting the ranch on Dak !!

That’s like asking why he would go to the Bucs.

Now a team with no success in forever is in the NFC title game because they weren’t afraid to take a risk..

All I can say right now is that I'm hoping the energy spent to improve our defensive front matches what this talk is about. Action is the key. All the words in the world can't accomplish what needs to be done to get his defense on track. This Cowboys organization is starving for winning results.

It's about time to learn who to take in the draft and to acquire in veteran free agency. If you succeed in that, Mr. Quinn, you'll start earning your keep on this team for a very long time. Jerry & Son will retain you for decades, if success is to come. They desperately need your help in that pursuit. ;)

all of a sudden brady shows up at tampa and they are in the NFC after a 20+ years hiatus ? If brady had been signed the cowboys would at least have made the playoffs

you do realize the reason that tb is in the nfc championship game has a lot more to do with the 4 turnovers their defense caused than Brady’s 199 yards right?

posts like yours crack me up as you really have no clue where the issues in this team are....dak is more than good enough, if we never have a defense it won’t matter if we had Brady in his prime back there.

But the reason Dalton can’t go 8-8 with the Cowboys in 10 games, unlike Dak with an all-pro line in 16, is because he wasn’t playing with third-stringer OL, with 15 different starting line-ups in like 10 games..

Dak is a hell of a QB when he's down double digits in the 1st quarter and teams are playing prevent D. Our Offense has been a sh#t show at the beginning of games for the past 2 years, they reek at the start of games. Dak looks shakier at the start of games than a a hairless dog sitting outside in 20 degree weather. I've been trying to figure this dude out and the only thing I have is he doesn't have the shoulders or smarts to carry this team.

He’s also garbage when down by seven on the fourth quarter or in the last four minutes when they are diwn 1-8 points, meaning a TD to win. He’s below league average. This idea he was ‘bringing teams back’ only for the defense to choke isn’t substantiate at all by the numbers. It’s more, defenses just go soft and prevent to burn up the clock, only to then tighten up if it happens to get somewhat close and then let Dak do his thing when it matters, which is become a below league average QB.

In fact, Andy Dalton behind this make-shift line, that wasn’t even using play action that much, was better than Dak with Zach Martin..

If Bellichek had a good QB in NE, they would have been contending this year as well. Tampa with its offensive talent was in win-now mode.

We used to be in win-now mode, but we decided to start Dak when we had all the pieces around us to make a run.

Yep, people still this that this franchise is respected and viewed with the same reverence as it was back in the day. Rather the Dallas Jerry's are the laughing stock of the league. Basically we are the equivalent of the MLS, you know a place where the great European footballers show up at the end of their career for one last bloated paycheck.

The Bucks defense was 6th in the NFL in yards allowed (327 yard/game) & 8th in the NFL in scoring defense (22.2 ppg)

The Cowboys defense was 23rd in the NFL in yards allowed (386 yard/game) & 31st in the NFL in scoring defense (31 ppg)

What you need is a good team so you don't have to put pressure on other players and units to cover for bottom of the barrel units.

The Bucs weren't scoring any more than the 31 ppg the Cowboys were when Dak was healthy. The problem is the Cowboy defense was giving up 36 ppg. Brady wouldn't have been able to overcome that either.

The Saints is the Saints

Agreed. And Brees' playoff record and lack of exemplary play in those playoffs is what it is.

The road to the SB can be navigated with a good mistake free QB like Brady is now with a strong defensive effort. Or, a passable defense and the great QB play which is what GB and KC have. ALL the playoff teams have great coaching/staffs and that is the key and what appears to be lacking in Dallas.

So the Cowboys have a suitable QB ... that's not the missing link. If we pay too much though we'll be hard pressed to field the rest of the talent needed to make a run.

And then there's the coaching issues.

Fish is a total beating . . . nails on a blackboard.
