I heard all year we’re loaded On talent so all we need is a quarterback who can throw at least 5 yards. No reason to pay Dak then when Mitch will do it for league minimum

Yep, being able to throw for 5 yards is all it takes to be an NFL QB …

Who was it you heard that from?

And you're sure Trubisky will play for league minimum?

Trubisky has went to the playoffs as many times as Dak but Trubisky did it in less years. Also is a probowler and was picked with number 2 overall pick.

I love when people talk playoff spots as if special teams and defense have nothing to do with it. The Bears have had a better defense than Dallas every year Dak has been in the league.

Even the one season (2018) where Dallas managed to finish 6th in defense the Bears were better. The were 1st. Still, they were one and done in the playoffs. At least Dallas won a game.

Then the real Dallas defense showed and got trucked for 273 rushing yards by the Rams.

We need a back-up veteran Qb no matter what happens. Trubisky has the physical tools to be a lot better than he was in Chicago.

I’d like to be bad for a year and draft top 3.

I hate that Jacksonville gets Lawrence.. Disgusts me.

I think if Mitch goes to the right team he has the tools to be a good QB. His coaching situation in CHI has been abysmal.
CHI WR's were/are not elite and he had Foles stabbing him in the back at every corner.
Foles lost 4 in a row and they put Mitch in and started winning again.

I could see him having a Cousins Tannehill type revival with a new team.

I know that when I make a mistake I like to follow it up with another mistake.

Trubisky has some wheels and he is durable. Decent accuracy. Depending on the price he could be a good alternative if, for some reason, Dak is not here.

We have a lot of weapons on offense, so he could do pretty well here especially if he is relatively cheap and pieces can be added to the defense with the money saved.

I do not want Dak at over $30M. Can’t win paying him too much.

We might as well draft a QB in the next draft and eliminate doubt about having a QB in the future.

Apparently, we're suffering this grab bag scenario, for other teams to pilfer what's left of our talent.

I think you would like to be bad every year with top three picks as often as possible with some of the ideas you have at QB. You would be done with Lawrence after his rookie contract if he didn’t win a Super Bowl. You don’t want to extend a QB unless they win a championship under their rookie deal. Under you we would be stuck with mostly low priced castoff free agent QBs.

If he was elite I’d keep him.

I pay people that are or elite or win things as a reward.

Mediocre with nothing to show I can find all over the NFL. Especially with QBs getting easier and easier to find in the draft.

I mean.. We could’ve signed Brady to a 2 year deal last offseason but we’re too smart of a franchise to take a risk like that.

Dak was playing at an elite level this season before he was injured. He’s far better than mediocre but you’re too blind to see that. You only pay QBs who’ve won a ring that’s what you told me last year. Brady wouldn’t have signed with the Cowboys and it’s not very smart signing a 43-year-old QB when you have a talented young QB who needs to be paid. Tampa only signed Brady because they gave up on Jameis Winston.

Threads like this are just to keep the Dak haters occupied until the next episode of Paw Patrol airs on Nickelodeon.

How do you figure QBs are getting easier and easier to find in the draft? Tua was drafted ahead of Herbert last April and he’s been benched twice. Two of the five QBs taken in the first round of the 2018 draft have gone bust including Sam Darnold who was the third overall pick. This thread is about going after Mitch Trubisky who was drafted ahead of Mahomes and Deshaun Watson. You seem to think championship caliber QBs grow on trees. Do you honestly think changing QBs is going to get the Cowboys over the hump with the defense they have? lol

The Tua hate is beyond stupid right now.

He had 11 TD's and 5 picks with a 6-3 record his rookie year after having a horrible injury that most thought would keep him out a season.

Championship caliber QB's don't grow on trees.. That's why you pay the guys who are difference makers and let the Dak's take a hike if they want money like they are difference making players.

Do I think changing QB's will help Dallas?

I think paying Dak makes us a mediocre relevant team with no shot at a Superbowl. I can't say for certain what will happen when we draft a QB but I like our odds of building a team with a cheap QB over the next 5 years more than Dak carrying a team deficient in talent to a title.
