I don't think Wentz is going anywhere. The owner chose him over Pederson.

Dak isn't going anywhere, either. Jerry would cave before he lets that happen.

Winston will replace Brees, with a side of Payton's pet Taysom Hill.

Yeah right, if you think The saints are going to let Winston officially take over for brees after FA and the draft, I've got beach front property I'd like to sell you in a dry desert somewhere. I think youd really like it

I always had an irrational dislike for Brees.

I think it stemmed from a long time ago seeing him do the pregame huddle with his teammates before the Saints unceremoniously stomped us out on national television.

Payton took Brees with his shoulder recovery being unknown, and Brees had a HOF career. Winston has shown flashes of very good quarterback play, if Payton is such a quarterback "guru", who's to say he can't turn Winston into a SB winning quarterback? If nothing else, having Kamara, Thomas and a stout defense is a good start...

Are you a fool?

Dak, Deshaun watson, Lamar Jackson, and Russel Wilson have 4 of the highest passer ratings of the last 5 years.

Josh Allen and Justin Herbert are looking like ballers.

Only old man Aaron Rodgers is the only one on their level.

The league has never been in a better position with young quarterbacks.
Wilson isn't young.

Dak, Allen, and Jackson can't throw accurately. They're just guys like Watson. Passer rating statistics are hilarious. They mean nothing. Watch the games.

Herbert and Burrow look promising.

No offense, but I'm going by what Payton said until they do something otherwise. He's spent a season with Winston and speaks highly of him. It's not as if he doesn't have talent.

And yet, you think it's a given that they're going with a rookie or an unknown free agent, based on nothing. I should be selling YOU something. :muttley:

It seems like yesterday when the Chargers chose to keep Rivers over Brees as their QB.

Brees was damaged goods at the time (shoulder surgery). The Saints were the only team who offered him a contract, so let's not rewrite history.

Nick Saban was so smart he chose Daunte Culpepper over Brees in Miami. That worked out well.

Well, I guess the HOF game in 5 years will be the Chargers vs. the Saints. Brees used to play for the Chargers before he went to the Saints. Meanwhile, Rivers spent his career aside from last season with the Chargers.

Burrow is too frail and won’t last long in the league.

Allen has been very accurate throwing the ball over the season as a whole. Yes he has had a few poor games with his arm but generally he has played great.

Both have been retired for years....... unfortunately, nobody had told them.

Bree's represented Texas well on the field in the NFL and in college. Much respect to my Texas native.

I wasn't trying to rewrite history. This was just a memory that popped up in my head as soon as I heard the news that Drew Brees and Phillip Rivers were retiring.

Payton also said a lot of nice things about Taysom Hill and started him over Winston when Brees was injured. I think the Saints could go in a number of directions at this point since they have to deal with their salary cap challenges.
