Still can’t believe they fired the guy who took them to 3 straight NFC championship games. Eagles are so ungrateful
It gets better. Reid is the only NFL head coach to take both the NFC (Egals) & AFC (Chiefs) to 3 consecutive titles.
If Lurie wasn’t an idiot, Reid would be retiring in Philly with god only knows how many division titles and Super Bowls.
I truly believe Lurie chose Serianni because he likes Wentz. Duce Staley & many other prospects (if made HC) would start Hurts. Wentz isn't leaving Philly now. Firing the only HC that won you a Superbowl over Wentzie with a new HC that never even called a play. Lol. Getcha popcorn ready!

Pederson is like JG if not worse ...once Frank left the Eagles for the Colts the team and the quarterback start to decline.

Andy’s last 2 seasons as Eagles coach were 8-8 and 4-12, and there was concern, despite all the NFC championship appearances, that he couldn’t win the big one.

Management also felt that his DC coordinator Johnson was a big factor in the team’s success and when he passed and the team struggled they decided It was time for a change.

Hindsight is always 20/20, the fans and management got spoiled by the success of the team and the bar was raised and neither had the stomach for a rebuild and retool of the team.

Would you rather have an owner who lacks patience with mediocrity and losing or one who’s willing to be patient with a staff that hasn’t delivered?

For the record, I was in the minority and thought Andy deserved at least another year and Pederson also, but if getting to the big game is now the measure of success then coaches are going to be on short leases in Philly.

If he learned anything under Reich, he will have an immediate positive influence on the Eagles.
  • He will find Wentz a real weapon besides the TE
  • He will shore up the protection
  • He will run the ball and keep running it, and Wentz will be running a ton of play-action rather than just taking the shotgun snap and standing back there
No surprise they went with him instead of the pass happy Moore. I expect Wentz to show great improvement when put in a system that fits his skill set. No way in hell Hurts wins the QB battle.

Yep. In all seriousness.....

He isn't as mobile as his brain tells him he is.
He certainly avoids a lot of sacks. Romo had the spin away move, and Wentz has the duck under move. Both amazed me that pass rushers didn’t adapt to both.

Judge is underrated and if they get a defense together look out.
Gentlemen is still there so I doubt they make all the necessary moves to go from 7-9/8-8ish to a legit contender. They still need a lot on offense and they’ll pay Saquon soon. I also feel like Daniel Jones is a 13-16 QB with an average at best OC, seems like a .500 football team unless they can make 5-6 moves to upgrade the roster.

A lot of room for error there.

I expected a bigger more heralded name as new HC, but Iggles management decided to get a commendable reference from Indy Colts HC Frank Reich who many (including myself)
credit the development of Wentz Foles to ,,instead of the departed Doug Peterson. And Reich offered up his own coaching staff member.

Nick Sinaanni isn't a house hold name like Eric Bieneminey, but who knew who Sean McVey or even Doug Peterson were when they first sprung into the HC ranks ?
We'll see how it pans out. But imo, it's clear that the new HC is directed at resurrecting Carlson Wentz than it is Jalen Hurts.

It certainly seems like a hire to appease Wentz. If the rank and file wanted Staley, they are bound to be unhappy with this hire.

May potentially further erode the Philly locker room. Especially if Wentz gets off to a poor start next year.
We can only hope.
