Mahomes passes protocol

As for the doc video. I feel like half his reasoning is “the Chiefs never stated wherever he had a concussion or not. “ Honestly sounds like a smart man but seems to be going in circles. At the end of the video he actually debunks the “rigged” talk snd says he could pass protocol after a concussion and its normal. At the 5:30 mark

I stated before the playoffs I wanted the Bills to win it all. I don’t care if Mahomes plays. I just find his sudden lack of symptoms strange for all the explained concussion symptoms/protocol. You can’t fake not having dizziness snd running. You can’t fake headaches, being bothered by light etc while at a practice field.

In most cases you're not going to feel dizzy a week after you have a concussion. You can lie about headaches. Like I said in another post, players have come back to play in a game after being helped off the field from a hit to the head.

I can't remember what game it was, it was back in the late 70s or early 80s, I am pretty sure it was a Chargers WR that caught the ball over the middle and got killed! I think he was unconscious for a little bit but he held on to the ball. It's an amazing play and they show it sometimes on NFL throwback films. It was either Charlie Joiner or Wes Chandler. But he came back later in the game to play well.

Compression in his neck for that short of time isn't going to do it. Being spun to the ground wouldn't do it either. Might make you momentarily dizzy, but not like that. I really have no idea what effect a pinched nerve would have.

I don't know what you mean by a major head injury. Do you consider all concussions major head injuries? But I definitely saw people like Patrick need help off the field and then return to the game. Get knocked out and return to play. But that's no longer allowed. When you get a concussion you're not dizzy the entire time.

I was going off your statement about a head injury, drunk or drugs. As I stated in my second post, he looked out of it and wobbly. Then he’s sprinting up the tunnel. He clears protocol then but they keep him out. Then he goes through protocol steps this week and practices 3 days and is showing no concussion symptoms. As the doc video stated at the end, there is nothing rigged about this. The doctors aren’t covering. It can happen. I thought he had a neck injury. Where this thread gets me is people are saying it’s a league thing to keep him in snd did you see how “serious” the concussion was when he got up. But then they ignore that he passed all protocol and it may not have been serious. To me this is a cut and dry thing and not some league mandate

I agree with you that players used to lie and come back into games but in this case he passed protocol on the locker room snd they still held him out so the system worked.

I had a concussion as a kid when my face met the pavement after going over the handlebars of a bike. Was held out of soccer 2 weeks. Had a Rocky black eye etc snd did have some lingering headaches. But that’s just a side story because I was bitter I missed soccer ..lol

Twice I had concussions, maybe more, but two that were diagnosed. Once in pads, the other playing sandlot football. Both times I was wobbly and dizzy, and both times I came back into the game. And I didn't miss the next game. But that was 1985 :). I had to go to the doctor myself after the game because I had such a headache.

Lol when we cut zeke theyll pick him up. Then what?
Then we can laugh at them. Regardless, zeke on a cheap vet salary would be fine, they’re not stupid enough to give him the contract we did.

I have no doubt the rules were bent in this case. Had it been a regular season game, Mahomes doesn’t get out of protocol. That dude was BATMAN days ago.

Ha...I had one of my many concussions about ~6 years ago and it was the same way you had yours, but I was 35 and woke up in a ditch around 1 in the morning with a broken tib/fib. Hobbled into the ER the next day with my foot the size of a football, had surgery a few hours later. There may or may not have been alcohol involved, I don’t remember from the concussion ;)

Good times.

I'm not so sure. An independent neurologist, approved by the NFLPA, makes the call. I don't think a doc who is not affiliated with a team or the NFL would risk their license by providing a false diagnosis for a football game.

I used to believe in stuff like this. The amount of corruption going on all around the world has provided me much doubt. This is one of those many cases now.

All those conspiracy theorists ignore the very real possibility that he really did not have a concussion after all.

Because it makes them feel like they matter when actually they don't.
Is this the Turk from the beer quarantine chug forum on FB?

I hear you. I'm that way on certain things too. I just don't believe even the Chiefs or Reid would let him play unless they were certain he's 100% in the noggin. I mean, they just gave him the largest contract in NFL history with nearly 500 million in guarantees. I think they want him around for a while.

If it were Dak and we were in the playoffs, Goodell would get involved and say Dak has to sit a week.
Of course in the first scenario, we’d wake up because we were dreaming.

Why would Goodell want the Cowboys to win?

You don’t need to be hit in the head to get a concussion. A blow to the body that causes the brain to shake rapidly back and forth which distorts the patterns of the brain that causes a concussions.

A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury—or TBI—caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head or by a hit to the body that causes the head and brain to move rapidly back and forth. This sudden movement can cause the brain to bounce around or twist in the skull, creating chemical changes in the brain and sometimes stretching and damaging brain cells.

I got a concussion playing neighborhood football, from a head to head hit, in high school. The real impact was felt about an hour later, after the game, when I started feeling dizzy and nauseous and vomited.
