I have a family of 16 and today, my mother is 76; a feast of sorts is halfway through. Southern Fried Chicken and Shrimp, collards, fresh butter beans that were frozen for this special day, corn, pulled pork and sweet potato pie. Southern sweet tea for lunch and will transition to Jack Daniels by game time.

I can’t pull for my boys today; however, I will rejoice each time Rodgers hits the dirt, weeps to the ref and throws a pick.

Had my workout and protein shake. Going to get morning coffee. Will pick up the family meal at Panda Express for lunch and my wife is making pasta with meat sauce for dinner and since she is Italian, it’s going to rock. Will also have a bottle of red wine watching the games.

I couldn’t think of anything else so I threw a brisket on last night. I’m about to wrap it till it hits temp. Have some sausage, hot links, mashed taters and some fresh pinto beans. I always make a side of red chile sauce with cheese that gives it a nice kick for those that want to add it. Good stuff. Happy Birthday to your mom Ramching! Hope she has a blessed day.

It does to me, it's the playoffs. I am used to FA and draft talk during the playoffs.

Happy Birthday to Blackthorn's Mom, if it really is her birthday. If I was poaching one of Ranching's Gameday Menu thread's, I'd make up my Mom's birthday to avoid the wrath. And it worked. Too bad this play has been used. Blackthorn may have ruined it for the rest of us.

I do not have to consider gag reflex today because the Cowboys are not playing so the menu is wide open. To start, Bloody Mary's, then Margaritas, then some beer. That's as far as I've gotten.

My wife's taking pity on me today. She's been on this weird green food kick all week - cabbage & burger meat with bacon, but no sides, Brussel sprout casserole (which was tasty, but strange). Today we're going back to my comfort food. Red meat, mashed taters - real, not packaged & probably baked beans.

Just returned from the duck blind. Five patos in tow and two happy labs. So it's tacos al patos . Con tequila. Feliz cumpleanos, senora blackthorn. Buen provecho. Congrats to dustin porier for knocking out blowhard connor mcgregor.
