You can always tell who actually watches football and who doesn't.....Stafford has tools no doubt but what he shows on the football field....he's inconsistent...he can throw it far...he has throwing power. HIs accuracy SUCKS. You can't blame that on his supporting cast either.
If Stafford was any good, he would have beaten us in the 2014 playoff game in Dallas. He had the better defense and wide receiver but he fumbles the ball away at the end of the game. I have rewatched that game numerous times and the Lions kicked are butts up and down the field. Their defensive line took it too Tyron, Martin, and Frederick. Stafford made a name for himself with two big comebacks against us in the prior two seasons. Then he laid in egg in his prime. Hard pass.

No WR's, terrible drafting and no accountability in the organization for it. Brady saw the writing on the wall.....Cam thought it was Billichick pixie dust and clearly that was not the case. That is an organization that is in rebuild mode. The Texas Native Stafford wants a chance to win now.....
LOL....That is absurd. They are going to look a lot different next year when their covid-absent players return. QB is the missing piece for them to compete. Of course they are not the team they were a couple of years ago, but to dismiss Belichick as an irrelevant participant in 6 rings and countless playoff records is silly.

Thanks for the explanation.

I say trade for Stafford, and Watson, and keep Dak.

All three could be in the backfield and the defense won't know who the ball is going to be snapped to!
Kids, this is an example of why you just say no to crack.

agree but he’s not asking for 40 million for 4 years either
True, but I think Dak is the better QB for this team. We've now seen what a decent QB can do when Dak isn't here, and that wasn't good enough. While Stafford is probably better than Dalton, we need someone with mobility at least as good as Dak's.

Weird how the guys who want to replace Dak because he hasn't won in the playoffs want to replace him with Stafford, who has never won in the playoffs.

So strange.

But Stafford will get the benefit of the doubt of never having a good team around him and it being the Lions. Yet at the sa me time Dak not winning a playoff game due to being on a inferior team or being surrounded by an inferior roster would be the exact thing that his critics would use to prove that diminish and downplay his talents as a QB. As I said multiple teams there's a double standard when it comes to judging Dak vs QBs.

If a QB they happen to favor or like struggles with less talent then they'll insist that the QB deserves a chance with a team that has better players. They'll insist that the QB is still elite but only needs better players to assist him in becoming a playoff/Superbowl caliber QB.

But when it comes to Dak then his critics will say "See, we told you that he's no good because he can't win unless he has a great roster around him."

The same people complaining about Dak at 40 million per year didn’t want him when he was making roughly 1.5 % of that and won a playoff game.

To be fair however it’s just a vocal minority of romo sexuals who cried when he lost his job
I think you're wrong about who they are. Plenty of us Romo fans love Dak. Not everybody shares your either/or scorched earth way of looking at life. Some people just don't like Dak. I have no clue as to why they're so adamant about it, but that's their problem.

Yeah lets trade the #10 pick when it likely won't take a first round pick to get him lol. They are parting ways. That should have been kept quiet. Yall have to think.
Trade for him. A second or third round pick is preferred.

Exactly right. There is literally no way that Dak's haters will look at him objectively. Every time he disproves a criticism, a new one rises in its place. He could win the super bowl next year, and they'd be *****ing about his shoe laces or something

Depends on what our goal is

If it is to “be relevant “ then yeah let’s make Dak happy and move on

if we want to win a SB or 2 then paying Dak elite QB money will hamstring us severely. Just look at Rams and Eagles . Dak needs a great OL and a great defense to get there

Dak will make way way way more as the starting QB of the Cowboys than he will anywhere else in endorsements and opportunities etc over his lifetime . Way more

I understand that this is not something we can reasonably expect a 27 year old signing his first contract to truly understand so I’m not expecting it but this is where Jerry, those around him and his agent should come in but of course they won’t

I don't think an argument can be made that one is better than the other if you are looking at team success. In spite of some prolific numbers Dak put up at the start of this season in mostly losing efforts, he has yet to prove to be a winner. At this point, Dak looks much like Romo compiling lots of meaningless stats just has Stafford has in Detroit for years. Stafford is absolutely the superior arm while Dak is younger and more athletic. Dak is probably a better leader as well.

This is going to come down to , as all things in Dallas do, to whom Jerry feels more loyal. I don't see Stafford replacing Dak. Jerry loves Dak and that is the biggest factor in Big D.

Matt's a highland park boy. Wonder if that could figure into the equation. We do have the 10th pick. Go scots.

Its all about money. I have read that Stafford's cap hit for the next two years for a team trading for him will be a little over $20m. Rumors have Dak around $40m.

I'm not sure that there are any cowboy fans that would turn down Dak at $20m per year.

Trading 10 for Stafford is nuts though.
I'm not interested in trading for a cheaper OLDER player who isnt better than our starter and if he is uts BARELY. Just so we can be looking stupid looking for a WB in a year or 2
