Looking at the 4 teams left today, it's clear the difference having an elite QB makes.

When today is over- I'll bet it's GB vs. KC in the big one- both powered by exceptional QB's.

Tampa was trash until Brady came. Now, they're one win away from the Super-Bowl.
Look at what Rodgers has done for GB, or Mahomes for KC.
Buffalo has been a joke for years, but with an ascending QB, they have become contenders.

If a team does not have a truly elite QB, it's very difficult for them to reach the highest level.

There are not many of these QB's around.

All 4 QBs have played well this season. I don't see Rodgers or Brady retiring, so all these guys are gonna run it back next season. Certainly should be cool watching the QB play today.

I want to see if Josh Allen gon' deal today. The
Beasely vs Honey Badger...yes sir!!!

Sort of... I think an elite qb is an advantage because you should be in the hunt every year, but you can win without one for a short run. you also have to keep in mind the last few super bowls have featured Jared goff, nick foles, jimmy G, and Matt Ryan.

not trying to throw shade at any of those guys, but outside of Ryan none of those 3 are even in the discussion of elite qbs.

While I expect all four QBs to be on their games, IMO it’s gonna come down to defense. As in, whichever defenses can slow down their opponents’ offenses, and maybe get a TO or two, will be the teams that win.

Just my take...

Good point, but they were well coached teams. Fortunes change quickly in the nfl.

Mahomey is the qb i worry about today. Concussion diagnosis iffy, but he's still nursing a sore toe.

You’re not wrong at all...it is kind of interesting looking back at the qbs I mentioned and half of their head coaches have already been fired.

It’s a QB league and the QBs who play the best in the playoffs their team usually advances. Last week it came down to Brady outplaying Brees. That was clearly the difference in the game. The Chiefs were running away with the game last week until Mahomes got injured. In the playoffs it usually always comes down to the QB.

It's definitely about the QBs, but you have to give the respective FO's credit for addressing the weaknesses on each team.

Chiefs grabbed another pass rusher and grabbed the biggest safety in free agency. Bills made adjustments to their OL and traded for Diggs. Green Bay continues to add young talent to the secondary and grabbed solid pass rushers. Tampa grabbed Tom Brady. These organizations are TRYING to win.

We like our guys.

Threads like this make it seem like elite QB’s alone are the reason these 4 teams are here. All these teams ALSO have:

•Good to Great coaching staffs
•Weapons! All have A-A+ receiver corps. Some also have good to great TE’s/RB’s.
•Talented offensive/defensive lines
•Defenses that can create turnovers

Before you go on believing elite QB’s do it alone make sure you check out the rosters and coaching staffs of these teams. Without both coaching and talent, elite QB’s don’t matter. See half of Rodgers and Brees careers.

These are all good and true points. I would argue that there are many teams that check all those boxes, but lack an elite QB- and are sitting at home today.

An elite QB alone does not make up for deficiencies in all the other areas listed. It does generally seem to be a prerequisite though.

I didnt think Brady would improve Tampa Bay so much. Always believed coaching was much much more important. It has to be said that Brady is winning the "is it Brady or Bellicheck" debate. Doesnt help Dak fans case when swapping out a 5k yards per year stat-o-matic QB for a mid-40s elite QB improves a team so much.

Rodgers has shown he can get it done with multiple coaches.

THE most important 3 positions in any franchise (other than owner) are

GM
HC
QB

we have garbage at GM and adequate HC and QB

not a good recipe for building anything except a trash heap

LOL at anyone who really thought seriously that Brady would not improve TB a lot

Yes it is most definitely about coaching as well. You are way underestimating Arians. He is a really really good HC

The fact is that stays that QBs like Dak build up are garbage. The only stat for an elite QB are wins in the post season

The game is tailored to the passing game.....you need a elite QB or a great QB to get this far (Josh Allen is becoming elite)

not really i mean dak cuild do it but on what contract?

been mentioned ,
Jared goff, nick foles, jimmy G, and Matt Ryan.

how about Eli, flacco, and dilfer?

sure its nice to find one and build around them however if you can have dak type at far less then a Mahomes type deal, then you still have cap room to add pieces around them..Dak at under 35 is still interesting, anything over that it becomes an issue him not being elite that my opinion

Eli and Flacco road excellent D's to their rings. Dilfer had one of the all time best. BUT if you look at the SB wins of the last 20 years it comes down to the better QB ending up with the ring at least 75% of the time.

Eli did NOT beat Tom Brady twice; the Giants D beat Tom Brady twice. One of the few that you could argue was Peyton Mannings SBs. He might have been the HOF QB in the game but the Colts and Bronco's won DESPITE him.
