He’s 33 but still more talented than dak. He has a top 4 arm. He’s locked up for two years. He’d make less than dak will make in one year. He’d fully utilize cooper and lamb. I hope Jerry does it. He’d upgrade and save money.

Have you applied?

Thats typical for QB from Detroit Why you think he wants out...

Sounds to me it’s more the Lions than Stafford that want out. It’s been speculated for at least two seasons now that Detroit is ready to move on from Stafford.

Fully utilize Cooper and Lamb?! Do you mean like Dak was doing by putting up 400 yds a game before he got hurt?!

Oh that's right. Those performances don't count for some reason

Getting a guy who's older and on his way out yet still pricey is puttimgnus in a better situation...?

he is 7-52 against teams with a winning record...a standard thrown around here all the time.
Don't ask about his playoff record, but I am sure excuses are coming.
His teams have under performed, but I am sure excuses are coming.
He is 33 and has been injury prone the past couple of yeras
He did have some talent around him offensively and couldn't get it done....

so based on every measure that's used he is not getting it done.....so why go for a 33 year old, now injury prone QB, with back problems that has never got it done?

Dak is better than Stafford

BUT... I'd be curious to see Stafford in a competent offense with a solid RB and 2-3 good WRs and TE. I hope he ends up somewhere like that

Trading for a quarterback who’s older and worse than your current quarterback.

Brilliant.
well technically we have no current qbs, Dalton and dak are not under contract so maybe Stafford's better then Gilbert or wait is GG under contract?, whos the other guy Nooch right its Nooch..well ill take Stafford over nooch

i think dak would not allow sign and trade for stafford, so stafford would be plan B if dak wont sign a FT and holds out then we ut the NEFTAG on dak and let him n hes free to see if he can find a acceptable trade partner, two firsts and dak leaves bring in Stafford who BTW is better arm talent then dalton..i mean give him a healthy line, Lamb, gallup, AC, Dalton and Jarwin with zeke an dpollard..im betting he fairs well..

just hypotheticals the Op failed to add..

well im betting it would be Dak for stafford straight up if Dak approved on Tag the [layers has to approve a sign and trade type deal..doubt dak want to go to the lions, so that out,.,if we cant sign dak and he holds out we could offer a 3rd this year and 4th next to Detroit and get him..might be better option to Dalton for sure.i have this weird feeling, if tagged and no deal imminent, dak may hold out and not sign the tag

this is all spitballing not knowing where dak and the FO are on the contract negotiations. Like river did for Indy i bet Stafford could at least keep us playoff hopeful..look at our offense when healthy Stafford could make some noise..
if you were the GM of the cowboys, we would have had 25 straight 3-13 seasons....

It’s a no brained. Even a football idiot would agree with you. Signing Dak to a high money contract is a terrible plan. When building a football team you have to look at value. The last 5 years were an amazing value for Dak, the next five he will be the worst contract in the NFL.
so you are proposing a tank and rebuild?

The more I read, I can see WFT as his landing spot. Can see them going all in to make it happen. Also, I get the impression the Lions will work him on a trade to a team of his choice.

Why would you think he'd be released? I don't see any way that happens. They'll find a trade partner.

Because if they don’t find a trade partner he’s going to be released. Would rather get him off the streets then have to give up draft compensation for him. The Cowboys couldn’t find a trade partner for Romo who was still playing at a high-level although he was injury prone. It’s possible Stafford will get traded he’s a very productive QB. However there’s going to be a number of good QB prospects in this draft. Personally it would be very hard for me to trade for a 32 year old QB who’s only made the playoffs 3 times in 12 seasons and has an 0-3 playoff record.

its because they hate Dak and they manifest that to be trolls just to say something against Dak...

and yet, Stafford doesn't meet any of the measures they used to measure Dak, but there is a long list of excuses why its ok for Stafford to have failed, but not OK for Dak....in their eyes, Dak has to be Brady or Rodgers, anything less and he is not deserving....

The haters complained that Dak was just an unproductive dink and dunk bus driver his first couple of years. Now that he’s become very productive they’re complaining that all his yards are garbage yards but yet some want to replace Dak with the king of garbage yards Matt Stafford.

He's been coached by swartz, caldwell and patricia. All lousy hc's.
