1000%.......I've said IF they don't have a long-term deal by the draft, we should move on. Take what you can get and draft/sign/trade his replacement.

Sure, if things somehow go sideways, no one player is bigger than the team. But I sincerely believe that both sides very much want to get a deal done, and that they ultimately will.

Worst case scenario, I think the Joneses will fire sale the rest of the team in order to have enough money to tag Prescott again if they had to. I cannot envision a situation where he's not with Dallas this upcoming season.

NE is gonna throw some money at Stafford I believe Indy may also ...

I think Indianapolis is a pretty solid option, especially if - as many believe - the Eagles want to make things work with Carson Wentz. The Colts have a pretty good team to surround any future quarterback they acquire.

Oh, I agree.....Stafford AND their first would get my attention (lol)
Guys this isn't the NBA. No one is giving you picks. I am not saying Stafford is the answer, I like his cost structure better than Dak's.
I am also a big proponent of Jameis, another number 1 pick who is an asset on the right team... Just imagine if McVay had Jameis instead of a 36 million dollar paper weight?
The Rams instantly regretted paying Goff, same with the Eagles. The lessons are right in front our faces and we still cant see them.

Dalton is a better option.

don’t have to trade picks and he’s cheaper.

stats are comparable.

plus, Andy can play.

Any given year, there are probably 4 quarterbacks you want right now, 4 that you used to want, and 2 who you want in the future. Then there are 6 quarterback situations that you wouldn't want at all. And then there are 16 who are fine. Both Stafford and Dak are on the upper end of fine, IMO.

It would never happen, but if the Cowboys decided they cannot resign Dak, I would need more than Stafford to swap the QB's. Perhaps Okudah and another pick.

If it free's up a lot of money then Stafford for Dak swap is worth it. Just a simple swap would do.

I don't think they could get a deal done with Dak though unless he was made the highest paid QB in football.

Stafford turns 33 in a few days. But given his numbers with a trash Team for the last several years he would probably still light it up with our Receiving Corps and a healthy O-Line.

If we really lose Dak which i dont think we will he would be a nice Bridge QB for the next 3 years until we can draft someone high.

The Kellen Moore factor is interesting. MM isnt sold on Dak - hence why they went cool on the contract extension.

I love the fantasies some create when the truth is already out there. Dallas offered Dak $110 million guaranteed, $50 million at signing. This was widely reported.

They disagreed on the length of the contract. This was also reported.

Stafford is definitely solid, if they can't come to an agreement with Dak, I'll take him and a 1st, 3rd and we should be good. That way they have a solid QB for a few years , some picks and then they can also be looking at drafting a QB that they like to develop behind Stafford. Only thing is drafting a QB is a long shot. Right now there are 4 QBs from the 2016 draft that are still relevant in the league. And two of them (Wentz , Brissett) are currently back ups. The Cowboys "settled" For Dak and got fortunate. Think about all the QBs they wanted after the first top two were gone. And all those guys are out of the league I believe. Do you really trust the cowboys?

Stafford would only cost 10 million next season and 12.5 million in 2022 under his current contract. If we can get him for a 3rd rounder, I’d do it in a heartbeat. It wouldn’t be worth trading more than that, considering we can lock Dak up for another year using the tag.

Sure. If he’s healthy and is willing to live with 20 million per. Take the savings from Dak and invest in the d and o-line. Who are we kidding ourselves. If anyone thinks this team can win primarily through the draft then I got some swamp land in Alaska for sale.

The only way this team even hopes to compete is by signing some real good free agents...

I disagree. Think they were close before the deadline. There were whispers that his agent was shopping around to get an agency to pick him up. All his franchise tagged clients didn't reach extensions.

No I mean I don't think Detroit could get Dak signed if we traded.

The trade that interests me the most is Dak for Tua.

I also would love to find a way to get Zach Wilson.. Dak and our pick to move up and draft Wilson.

That way we get a really nice talent and a lot of cap relief for 5 years.

Ryan is a wash up has been. Most his lifetime stats was inflated by toss ups to Megatron.

I expect a lot of people to think that.

Stafford is a really good player in a bad situation.

In Dallas he would shine and probably make us a better team but at worst we're right where we currently are.

So it depends on money for me.

There are some rumblings that the Dolphins may draft or trade for another QB. Why in the world would you take a lesser player at the most important position? I don't care if Dak makes market level money, if he gives us the best chance to succeed. As for Zack Wilson, he is an unproven commodity, where there are so many busts at the position every year. Team trades away Dak and they might be picking in the top 10 for the forseeable future.
