Dallas Cowboys Draft Rumors are starting to buzz with the 2021 NFL draft just a couple of months away. The Cowboys need to add talent to the defense and could look to trade down in the 2021 NFL Draft to stockpile draft assets. But who are some top Cowboys draft targets if they trade down?

If the Cowboys trade down from pick #10 in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Cowboys trade down targets will likely be defensive focused. Among some of the top Cowboys trade down targets are DT Christian Barmore, LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, CB Jaycee Horn and LB Zaven Collins.

I would agree with at least 3 those 4 as trade down targets all day. Not sure about JOK's fit in our defense. Very good player, but I don't think he can be an every down LB for us. He's more of a SS/WLB hybrid, but TBH, that maybe just what is needed in today's spread NFL so...

If we take a OT it’s telling us that one of ours is most likely not coming back. Would not be surprised at all if Tyron pulls a Tfred this year.

I have mixed feeling, would love to keep Tyron but also know if Cowboys release him they are looking at a saving of 10 mill on the cap. Given the injuries that have mounted I would not be shocked if Cowboys moved on.

Actually if they cut him now, the team would save $5.1m, not $10m. And the cap hit (dead $) would be $8.865 m this year. I don't think that would be very good business sense to cut him this year.
2022 would be the reverse, $5.3m dead $ and $9.9m in cap savings.

We talk trade down every year but with the QBs this year maybe we'll get a good offer and pick up some extra players in the top 100.

2021 marks the first season when the Cowboys can get salary cap relief by releasing Tyron Smith. They save a little over $5 million if he’s cut outright and $10.5 million if they make him a June-1st release.
