I thought the Texans brought in a committee of players to help with this hire and this is what they came up with? Bienemy .. how does he not have a HC job by now. This is a win for KC.
Maybe because the thought is that anyone can have success with Mahomes, Hill, Kelce, Watkins, etc. Maybe the thinking is that Andy Reid is the engine of success when it comes to coaching there. I don't know. I am just guessing.
If I'm Bieniemy, I just remain as KC DC until Reid retires...surely he gets promoted to take over as HC.

just as Rams can have success so long as they have McVey and Goff,.. thus the hiring of new HC Zac Taylor in Cincy ...just as Matt Nagy got Bears job off of Chiefs offensive success.
(even with Alex Smith at the time)

And Chiefs had bye week for teams to have a chance interview Bienemy, and reportedly he's had interviews.

not a total shock as teams are doing oddball hiring off staffs with better options and take the Wr coaches, ST coaches, and etc etc i mean i nver heard of the NYG coach until he was hired..i wonder how much this is some of the better assts have chosen to turn down just any HC offer and waiting for better futs.the Texans seem to be so disjointed right now they were the last team a Hc candidate wanted to go to..new GM, upset QB, no high draft picks, bad defense , cap out of sorts, etc etc etc

how in the world is Roman and other off that staff plus Biennemy not got job yet?

Yes, a head scratcher indeed. NFL teams haven't given him a chance to be a full time offensive coordinator and now he gets a HC gig.
Yeah just seems like there was a lot better qualified candidates out there at GM and HC. Seems like that Easterby or whatever his name is has gotten way to much influence. I dont blame Watson for wanting out not sure if he will get his wish but that appears to be a dumpster fire. If I'm JJ I'm saying trade me he is on the back half of his career no time for mess like this if wants to pursue championship.

Damn, this is some kind of monkey's paw wish.

"Hey David Culley, you finally get a chance to be a head coach!"
"Great, finally!"
"Yeah, but you're taking over a horrible team with no draft capital and your star QB has demanded a trade."

I kind of like the hire. Being a coordinator doesn't guarantee that you are going to be a good HC. Being young and handsome doesn't guarantee it either.
Sounds like he is extremely well respected, that will rub off on the players. Plus, how can you replace all those years of experience? You know he has ties around the league that these young coaches can't dream off.
Good for Houston and not doing the popular/sheepish thing and hiring some young hot shot with a couple of years of coordinator experience. Im rooting for him.

True, but there's offensive talent all over the NFL. He still has the respect of his players and would've been a great move for them. He deserves a shot when you're running the best offense in football. Specially with some of the names being hired. A 65 year old SpecialTeams coach? I can't imagine too many Houston fans or players are happy with this decision.

I mean I get it, and to an extent agree, but the NFL hired Adam Gase who basically made his entire career off of being PEYTON MANNING's OC. To coach Peyton Manning is to basically have a job doing nothing. You are not running any offense if you are Peyton Manning's coach, but somehow he was still considered a hot commodity.

Then he was terrible in Miami and the Jets just had to have him?? lol Almost hard to believe. Gase is just one of many head scratching coaching hires. That's a mighty long list. Coaching and talent go hand in hand. Landry had it, Walsh had it, Noll. on and on and on.. So now there's too much talent where EB doesn't deserve a shot?

I think Bieniemy wasn't going to take the Texan's job. It is a crap situation. He'd take it if Deshaun wanted to stay likely but he wants out. That organization is a mess.
