In my opinion, economics (and not merit level-of-play assumption) will ultimately decide whether Jerry Jones and Dak Prescott come to an agreement. That said, I cannot wait for the outcome.

Too many have seemingly placed much of their heart-and-soul into whether Prescott stays or leaves. It is well-passed time for the long-running suspense to end and the teeth-gnashing/jubilation to begin.

Speculation regarding the 2021 NFL quarterback carousel has focused mainly on Deshaun Watson, Matthew Stafford , Jimmy Garoppolo and even Aaron Rodgers , but all of those guys remain under contract...

We need a good QB but we also need a bunch of players. Most important is we seem to lack talent evaluation. I’d start there by getting the best talent evaluator. If Dak wants too much money, he’s got to go.... just business.

its got to be the best overall balance...meaning that if we let dak go it has to be because we have found an alterative qb that when paired with the upgrades on defense using the extra money mean the end result is a net positive.

lmao, "dak needs to move on to a team where he has a chance to win a super bowl". He's about the money, his desire to win a super bowl is way down on his list. smh.

Endorsements galore without on field success. As of 2019 Dak already made 50 million in endorsements. Brady and rogers make about 12-15million in endorsement deals. Dak doesn't make this cheddar anywhere else, no one has this much built in exposure as The Dallas Cowboys starting QB.
Taken together, Prescott’s endorsement deals and insurance policies are worth more than $50 million.
So if u use a little common sense, there is no way the few endorsements he had paid him anywhere near 50 mil.
They include the ins so as to inflate the #.
Also the E. Deals are for many years, so they could be including the total amount each deal is worth.

I would think that maybe he made 2-5 mil in 2019 and less in 2020 on his E deals, and he may or may not have collected some ins money.
I think that is only for career ending injurys.
However being a cowboy means more money like you say as far as E deals.

Independent of the fact that you forgot that the tag will cause Dak's price to go up for the Cowboys...

Andy Dalton isn't a "legit starting QB" so this entire "logic" is flawed.

Independent of the fact that I put Dak's 2021 tag price in my post ...

Dalton started the majority of games in each season of the 10 seasons he's been in the league.

Yea but the logic is still flawed

That doesn't mean he's a "legit starter" in 2021. He sucks as a starter.

At this point I'm not sure Dallas should sign Dak to anything until they see him play. That's a major injury and if Dak were to hit the FA market nobody will sign him until he can prove he is fine. That might not be until training camp opens. This crap is gonna drag out.

Starting to think that dallas will let dak walk. Rams are already ready to move on from goff even though his 4y/134m extension is about to start due to his mediocrity and their cap situation. Philly trying to resurrect wentz with reich lite due that contract and their cap situation. Detroit moving on from stafford. hard to see dallas meeting dak’s price, and tagging again for 37.7m kills their cap for 2021. unless dak moves much more than jerry, it’s over. Jerry and Stephen seem unwilling to meet Dak’s market demands even though they met Lawrence’s, Jaylon’s, and Cooper’s, and then went above market for Zeke.

Dak holds all the cards, so he has no reason to budge.

If they let Dak walk, we'll return to the type of QB play we had after Troy retired. Weren't those years fun?

The thing about Dak is, he's the leader of the team. Everyone likes and respects him as a player and as a person. He the type of leader that elevates everyone else's game. Losing Dak would be losing much more than a QB.

Whatever, I’ll take the BYU qb if it comes to this. Dak will be fine as will the Boys.

Gotta feeling your gonna have to get up to 1/2....to get him...and it's not going to cheap...or easy. The musical chairs of QBs this year....will be unprecedented. And someone is going to be left out....unless your happy with Andy Dalton as your starter. Don't be that team.

I don't think Dalton will stay here another year.

Only reason Dak would leave is if we trade for Stafford or Watson. Which isn’t happening.

You know what is funny Goff is certainly on the same level as Dak and is a better pocket passer. His contract is not to bad and he is younger then Dak. 33 million for Goff or 40 for Dak. I know what my answer would be. You probably could get him for a 3rd round pick too.
This is why you don’t run a football team.
