He should have retired last season and could have been one of the few HOF players to spend their entire career with the same team. He stayed around one year too long catching only 13 passes for 69 yards this season and 2 TDs. He’s probably regretting the decision to go to the Raiders. He basically has to retire, no team would be interested.
I'm a firm believer players should retire when they feel it's time, and if a player is willing to accept a lesser role than he is used to in order to stay in the game I say go for it. Who knows, maybe Witten needed this extra season to come to grips with the fact it is time.

He was here for what, sixteen years? One year we had 13 pro bowlers. I don't know what you're talking about and neither do you.

If you would prefer stats over wins, then be my guest. You're just like he is.
I'll take a gamer like Witten anytime anyplace. So would Romo................

The Cowboys spent a 2nd round pick on Anthony Fasano. The Cowboys spent a 2nd round pick on Martellus Bennett. Both made the Pro Bowl in other uniforms. Bennet won a Super Bowl in another uniform. Witten was about HIMSELF. When a team spends that kind of draft capital on players...a true team player would have done more to make it work. Witten had ZERO interest in those players being successful in Dallas. The longer he was in Dallas...the longer I disliked him. When he abruptly left to work in the MNF booth, that solidified what I long felt about him...he was SELFISH!!!
The Witten hate is ridiculous. Dude played hard when he was here. Broken ribs, ect. Man we have some dumb fans lmao.

Jerry will probably pay him 10 million dollars for the day.

Jerry might even give the Raiders our 2nd round pick for Witt just to make sure he is a Cowboy before retiring.

I'm very comfortable with my knowledge as a football fan and scholar. Jason Witten was a very good, NOT great player. But he was also selfish. Period!

“Selfish”, lmao. Put down the pipe my guy. If doing your job, & putting your body on the line is “selfish”, then I don’t understand society anymore. He wasn’t any less selfish than Ware or Romo was. Hate-watchers like you need to get a life.

My life is good. Been a Cowboy fan for a long time. Witten, Ware, Romo etc....represent an era of Cowboy football that just simply did not win. Was not all their fault, but make no mistake...they are not Aikman, Emmit, Irvin, Woodson. It's just that simple. The post Jimmy Johnson era Cowboys coaches AND players were simply not good enough...and Romo, Witten, Ware are in that group. Your personal attacks on me must make you feel better about yourself, but you are wasting your time. You are not on my level.

Is Dez retiring or something?
Dez's time in the league will more than likely end this spring. If he goes the entirety of 2021 without being on a league roster...Cowboys should let him know once you file for retirement from the NFL - your enshrinement in the ROH is eminent.
