"You are what your record says you are." That's just one of the memorable quotes entered into the NFL vernacular by the legendary Bill Parcells. And looking at the latest set of p

Who cares what a bunch of pimply faced East Coast sports writers have to say?

If you are on this Cowboy team go out and kick some azz and make 'em look stupid. Nobody, and I mean nobody can predict the sports future.

Finally. We are normally placed far too high, which allows Jerruh to sell the crap out of the team and win the offseason. Only when things get bleak on the marketing front or overwhelming negative press will Jerruh do something.

hopefully this will lead to......something.......maybe

"Prescott’s season-ending injury exposed much larger flaws with the team than most fans wanted to acknowledge. And while there’s every reason to believe the passer will pick up where he left off on October 11, the fact that his long-term employment isn’t a given affects every other decision the front office makes this offseason: who to trade for, who to trade away, who to sign in free agency, who to let walk, who to extend, who to draft.

It is, as Archer points out bluntly, all about Dak.

And right now, if the Joneses insist on letting the Prescott inferno burn out of control (again), it means other fires will simply go unattended. Or be mismanaged. And that 19th-ranked club that seems to lead the league in dysfunction and underachievement is exactly what their record says they are…"

Id have them anywhere from 13-16. If the OL stays healthy, our offense will be hard for alot of teams to keep up with. Defensively the best we can hope to improve to in 2021 is mediocre, so that keeps us in mid tier of teams. Our offense is good, but not good enough to carry us V. top 10 teams

Well, I am shocked.
Another worthless BSPN rankings. And does not mean squat. But as it says, way too early rankings. So all for fun.
I guess what will be interesting is how fast they move up on that list. Especially when Dak is signed. There are some on BSPN that do like Dak.

I can see why they would be in the bottom half though at this point. At 6-10, though injury depleted, a lot of FA's, as usual, and the FO lack of dipping into the top player FA pool to replace players. As the track record for signing FA's that contribute is abysmal

But how is #19 considered near the bottom, and we are ranked above the other NFCE teams. So this is actually a bit high to what I thought it would be.
Sign Dak, and some of their own key FA's, all get healthy, have a good draft to help the defense. I can see them 12 to 16 range by start of the season. And 12 is really pushing it.
Any team that did not make the playoffs should not be in the top 12 to start.

You don’t need a pimply faced East Coast sports writer to tell you they will disappoint, 25 years and counting speaks for itself. The only people making the Cowboys look stupid are themselves and the fans that over hype them every year.

Does this mean the Cowboys won't win the ESPN Power Ranking Trophy?

Power rankings in a sport with a playoff system is a joke. ESPN is a joke. Someone should have told them a while back, there just isn't enough sports for a 24 hour a day broadcast.

My problem with these isn't the number, but the rationale.

Anything you want to say about the Cowboys - holes on defense, questions on OL - you can say about LAC, LV, Minny, Arz, Ten, Sea. If you're using questions about the roster, particularly at QB, how are Pitt and NO not punished for that?

The problem is the flaw in the justifications.

ROFL... 19th is not NEAR THE BOTTOM.
It's middle of the league. Just Below Average

Not bottom 5, not bottom 10.
But yes bottom HALF.

And that is fair given there area bout 7 positions including QB without a starter under contract right now.

This is accurate. This team needs to improve if it wants to have any playoff win chances, much less championship chances.
