NFL ranks Dak 16 out of 32 QBs

Tom Brady has not been a top 10 QB in the NFL for basically the past 3 years. TEAMS win in the playoffs and teams win titles. There is a reason he went to a loaded team. They went 7-9 last year with a QB who threw 30 interceptions. He threw 30 interceptions and they still won 7 games. Miami's backup QB was outplaying Winston and that is all Brady had to be to be a massive upgrade.
He still had to beat Rodgers, Brees, and Mahomes

With 2 out of 3 games on the road. I don’t think it’s reasonable to assume anyone replicates Tampa’s success this year. He is definitely a lucky guy though

Allen isn’t better. Dak is to 5.

Im fine with that. Many of those are debatable. Allen is phenomenal and getting better. I think highly of Dak as well. The take home point is he belongs in the conversation, not all the way down at 16 or wherever the OP wants him.

1. Watson
2. Rodgers
3. Dak

Wondah Boi’s surroundings make him look better than he actually is, Dak’s surroundings make him look worse than he actually is.

Watson is Randy Moss/Michael Jordan at QB. Scary. I hope Dak can get one in before Watson lands in the right situation

Winning the SB is a team accomplishment, I want overrate a QB for what his team accomplished, especially if said QB wasn’t the driving force behind that accomplishment! I’m not a sheep.

Dak is the modern day Troy Aikman. But, but, he misses passes! Sure does, occasionally, but if the Cowboys were winning games 32(Cee Dee) - whatever score... you wouldn’t care. The complete imbeciles of the Dak hate crew would, but those with a lick of sense wouldn’t!

Herbert better than Watson! Good comedy. Herbert is overrated as **..

Your missing the point, but ok.

Where are Burrow and Rothlisberger?

Anyway, looking at the numbers, Dak's QB rating after 5 games was 99.6, or good for 11th in the league. Passing yards per game was an astounding 371.2 which would have put him in first in that category by 55 yards per game over Mahomes!! He threw 9 TDs which over 16 games would amount to about 28.8 TDs, again good for 11th in the league. And he threw 4 INTs which in 16 games would be about 12.8 INTs, 6th worst in the league.

So where does that put Dak? I have no idea but I think it would be fair to say he is in the top 10. But the thing is, the guys at the top, right now are at a different level than Dak. Even if you have him at 5, he is not close to the 4 guys ahead of him. He is just not as good as they are. So what do you pay him? Less than those 4 guys are getting.

Burrow could've been somewhere towards the bottom of that list. I didn't put Rapeburger in because I honestly don't know his future. He deserves to be in there if playing.

The problem with paying Dak less is that its only fan logic. Dak will get what the market dictates, and as these contracts age they become relatively cheaper than newer deals. Had we got Dak taken care of along side, or before those other guys Id expect him to make slightly less. Unfortunately we drug our feet.

Mahomes
Rodgers
Brady
... only 3 I’m 100% certain

Wilson
Allen
Watson
Jackson
... depending on the day

That’s 7 on a bad day.

Funny because I said he's in the conversation from 5-8, certainly not 16th. I guess we are in agreement.

The article on NFL ranks Dak at exactly #16

Some of you want to pay the 16th ranked QB 40 million dollars a year crippling this teams chances of doing anything meaningful for atleast 4 more years

please explain....
It’s one nfl writer not the “nfl” , PFF a real measuring organization has him ranked much higher and in top 10 at number 9 , I have not read anyone that wants to pay him 40M.

Odd I dont remember him being on the field at the same time as any of those 3. I think it is reasonable to assume about a dozen QBs could replicate what Brady had with the Buccs. You gave him a top 10 defense, a top 10 OLine, 3 great WRs, and then adding in his comfort weapon in Gronk and you have a team that is a favorite with about a dozen QBs to win the SB. People knew that team was overloaded with talent LAST year. They were that team, the one that just needed a real QB and they were a lock for title contention.

Anyone who places Tom Brady in the top 5 of QBs is doing it off of what he used to be versus what he is. 5 years ago sure but now he needs everything to be just right to look good and yes no one can win with nothing, but he pretty much needs everything, but if you give him everything he will not blow it.

Meanwhile the entire team, coaching staff, front office and ownership are giving full
credit to Brady for their successful season. He threw 40 TDs.

Oh I went to the NFL article in question. That the OP seriously misquoted.

The ranking was for the QB’s 2020 season. In which Dak only played 4.5 games.

not the QB’s overall ranking amongst starting QB

So even the article itself doesn’t say Dak is the 16th best QB in the league. Which the OP neglected to mention or just flat out chose not to.
We all know it's another Dak hater creating a thread to bash Dak while spreading disinformation.

Hmmm I guess Im not the only one who thinks Dak isnt a top 10 QB. Stats just dont tell the whole story with Dak. If you want to get a really good read on how Dak is just put him on the 10 yard line on first down and tell him he has to throw to a WR in the endzone. He can do it but his percentages are low. He will almost always check it down and expect Zeke or Amari to get into the endzone with their feet. And his second option is he will try to run for it. Daks 2016 was a anomaly because there wasnt enough film on him plus he played a weak last place schedule.

Who cares where he's ranked. The best QB in the game couldnt win the SB after he lost his O-Line protection.

The game is more than QB ranking or QB yards. Sort out your front lines and build around that.

Tom GOAT Brady
Mahomes~Wilson
(Gap)
Rodgers/Watson
(Gap)
Dak/Allen/Lamar

This is the official tier list of quarterbacks of the top 10 Ish qbs in the league.

Rodgers would be higher if he wasn’t a playoff chocker

Brady is the Goat but multiple QBS could have won the bowl with that team and he would not be the player I would want with no line.

Tier 1: Maholmes Tier 2: Wilson Rogers Tier 3. Dak, Watson, Brady, Allen 4. Herbert, Lamar

Ranking him at 16 is a joke.

that’s the explanation.

btw I don’t know who “NFL” is and how that person came up with their ranking.
Even people who aren’t fans or even just dislike his play still put him top 10.

I hope this lights a fire under his ***

The fact of the matter is both sides know how important Dak is to the Cowboys’ success.

Yet if they don’t want to treat Dak like the integral piece he is, then it might be time for him to follow the blueprint of some other high-profile qb's & take power into his own hands.

How are you coming up with these calculations?

By taking out of the equation what football players get paid. What they are worth is a whole different ballgame. Not just Watson.

I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek about it, but someone like Dak getting $40 million a year to play football is really kind of ridiculous. Of course, it's made possible, and even logical, by the fact that the NFL rakes in so much money through its deals and the players are the reason for it.

Maybe I'm just jealous. ;)

where else could you put him? its based off this year and to be ranked 16 and only playing 4.5 games is a good thing i would've left him off the list entirely because he ain't started enough games in 2020 but its a list of every qb to start a game this year and he was 16th out of 59

somewhere between 6-9 ok. 16 nope. The bigger problem is paying him what the market price is right now. I'm to the point of pleading Jerry to either pay him and figure out the rest or spend the #10 draft pick on one. Dak's stance is so strong waiting him out just is not to to get it.

Poop or get off the pot Jerry.
