IMHO, the vast majority of the rumors and inside info that we’re enduring right now are manufactured drama to affect contract negotiations and generate intere$t in a sport that’s declining.

If EVER I could attain time travel, I’d fast forward 10 weeks, simply to end this MEGA-TIRESOME, supremely epic nightmare of uncertainty, eyerolling speculation, and useless disagreements.

I love to talk Cowboys, but I’d really like to see enough resolution to just be able to relax a little, ya know?

Casual fans usually don't really follow along much this time of year so I don't think anyone fabricating rumors is really going to boost interest in any significant way.

Also, is football declining? I know the Super Bowl had low ratings but it was a rather boring game overall. Add in the issues with Covid and Tom Brady being in yet another Super Bowl and I can see reasons for low ratings.

I dont know what your age is, but I see it from my generational perspective.
My Children dont respect the game
My Grandchildren have little if no interest.
They only have interest because of my interest,, and this is very alarming to me.

How does one take a break from Football? Asking for a friend...
delete all football apps, log in here every 2 weeks and that's about it

i guess it's easier for me since baseball is my favorite sport not football.....and its hockey season and the caps defense is the hockey equivalent of dallas defense this past year

ES, while I agree I also accept the fact that their prime target audience is right here. We give legs to any rumor about the Cowboys, even if it's to call it out.

We are not just a discussion group, we are a gossip group as well and that's OK, even those that doth protest too much eat it up. It is cheap entertainment and we get to participate in it ourselves.

Hell, if we could all get together, we could quilt while we do this.

Quit coming to a football message board would be a great start.
That is not the only reason some of us come here.

We are a community and the Cowboys and football, while the central theme, are not all we discuss in the Off Topic Zone, Member Zone, etc.

Football and my fanhood for the Cowboys brought me to my first DC site but that is not what kept me there, it was the people there. I come here without much Cowboys on my mind but I want to interact with the board. I realize some do not have the time and they are all about just the Cowboys and football and that's fine. I just want more out of it, I want to know more about the people behind the avatars and I have discovered some great things here and my tolerance of people has grown because of being exposed to more people here.

This board is just like the Dallas Cowboys. They are a business than just happens to have a football team as part of it.

I understand but one could stay in the off-topic zone to take a break from the football discussions, as an example.

I just read the thread titles and decide whether it's something that's likely to be opinion rather than fact. If it looks like opinion, I usually don't bother clicking.

Wha????? And deny ourselves our righteous indignation? Perish the thought.

I would rather read and complain than to have never read at all.

Besides that, Aviano, where is anyone to escape what ES is talking about? It doesn't just permeate our society, it is our society and what we have become.

Unlike me, I ignore the facts because that's usually boring and unimaginative. People pass on facts, they form opinions.

I don't think he was referring to the revenue. The ratings have been in decline and this SB was the lowest in 14 years. The NFL is not in trouble but I do wonder about it with the under 30's and their varied interests over the next 10-15 years and the reduction in young players. I think a lot of the prime NFL target audience was hooking themselves up on X Box and PS5"s when those got released.
